Default when to take glutamine??

I am wondering when the best time to take glutamine is?

The guy who sold it to me said take it 1/2 hour before working out for the best results... I am wondering about that.

Also the stuff I bought says to take 1tsp. How often should you take it, and when is the best time?

thanks
d

Deze, I've moved your post from the BFL forum to this one as it's more a supplements question.

Here are a few threads on Glutamine:

L-Glutamine, Pill or Powder? - this one should answer all your questions.

And this should answer any that may remain
Glutamine, Glutamic Acids, Glutamine peptides???

I thought I read in a footnote in PPLP, that you should only take this every other month. (On for 30days, off for 30 at 4g dose.) Is this true? I didn't see it mentioned in your links.

Nat, I don't have my copy of PPLP at home I'm pretty sure they are recommending it for use as an immune booster and / or colon care - not for muscle repair and relief from delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

Glutamine is safe in daily doses as high as 40g (I'm sure that is indicated in the first link posted in reply to Deze). You can always use the links in the sticky under "Supplement Resources" to check on dosage and recommendations - both supplementwatch and wholehealthmd have reviews of many supplements.

I must've missed that in the link. Sorry, I'm sleep deprived (or I was yesterday) and ill right now. Thanks

Hi guys. I'm just now hearing about this glutamine powder and am very interested in buying some. However, I don't exactly know which kind to buy. Any advice? I'm low carbing and don't want any with added sugars as I've read to watch for that in some. Please let me know. Anyone, anyone????
Thanks
