Default The BEST breading/coating for making....

Zucchini, eggplant.....This makes a GREAT coating for frying anything that you want to fry....I just thought that plain parmesan cheese was too salty, so I tried this with great results....This browns nicely and is yummy crisp.

The amount of eggs will depend on the amount of food you are breading.
In a bowl mix:
4 eggs
splash of heavy cream

In a big bag mix:
3/4 c plain whey protein powder
1/2 c parmesan cheese
seasonings...I don't measure....just throw in what ya like!
I used:
garlic powder
a good dash of fresh coarse ground black and red pepper
a lil' seasoned salt

mix the eggs and cream in a bowl, dredge your veggies or meat in the egg wash, then toss into the bag and shake. Coat well, then fry in extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil.
This rivals anything I have ever used in the past for making crispy veggies and chicken fried steak, etc, and it is cheap! Everyone in the house ate the fried eggplant and zucchini. We are gonna do okra and chicken next!

Hope you like it...We fried chicken with it the other day, and it was VERY good. Have been unable to locate fresh okra yet, but as soon as we do...we will be eating it this way as well

!/2 cup of Parmesan cheese has 1.5 grams of carbohydrate and protein powder depends on the brand. It can be from 0 to 3 grams for 1/3 cup.

Stores like GNC, natural food stores and large grocery stores.

I cna onoly find flavored. wildernessfamily has a goat whey I want to get though tha tI think is unflavored, I'll have to try that.

I wonder if powdered goat milk or powdered coconut milk would work in it's place, though raise the carbs.

I am a Southerner living in the North... fresh okra is very difficult to find and sometimes I just have to have fried okra... so... I started using the sliced frozen okra... surprisingly, it is pretty good. Bread it while it is still frozen... the milk/egg wash and breading will really stick to the okra because it sort of "feezes" on. Of course, it's not as good as fresh but, if you can't get fresh, it is a wonderful substitute!

I use basically the same recipe but I use a low carb baking mix instead of the protein powder (just because mine is vanilla, lol)

Anyway, one trick I've learned is that if you want a thicker breading, like for mozzerella sticks, you simply drop the coated item back into the egg mixture and then again in the breading. This method really works well.

On a fairly regular basis I make:

Zuccini
Mushrooms
Mozzerella sticks
Chicken
