Default I'd like a cracker, please.

I'm about to begin my 5th week of this and I find that the thing I'm craving the most is a cracker. Are there any that anyone knows of that are lower in carbs than some others? Is it possible to make a low carb cracker? (I live in Canada, so am not interested in ordering from the Atkins store if a LC cracker is sold there.)

I could dip it in my sour cream dips....eat it with my tuna salad....I really would like to eat some crackers.

Hi I don't know what your carb limit is each day so these might not be suitable my plan is not atkins and these are allowed

Ryvita - Dark Rye (there are other types too)
  • 4 crackers (they are pretty big - crispbread size
  • 139 calories
  • 30grm Carbohydrate
  • 6.7gm dietary fibre

So I figure 1 cracker would be about 7.5 carbs or 5.8 with the fibre subtracted.

There are crackers called Cheeters that are supposed to be pretty good. Netrition carries them, although I have never tried them.

While not crackers, Atkins chips (Crunchers) remind me more of crackers (like Triscuits) than they do chips. The sour cream and onion ones at least are really good, if expensive. I haven't tried any of the others yet.

Yes, the Cheeters are good. I've only tried the onion though. They are about 4 carbs/cracker.

I found a great substitute for crackers to be cheese crisps. I put a thin layer of shredded cheese in the microwave (usually parmasan) and nuke it for about a minute (varies with microwaves). Then let it cool. They are really yummy and crispy. Took care of my cravings!

Cheeters are excellent. The kind I got (Sesame) are 1 effective carb for four crackers!

Thumbs up

I make the cheese crisps all the time and they are great. I use cheddar or mozzarella, and also have tried havarti. Just cut a slice, put it on a plate sprayed with pam, and nuke it for a minute. I usually take it off the plate once it cools a little, then transfer to paper towels. I make a bunch at a time and keep them in an airtight container, or they will get soggy!!
Enjoy!!!
