Default Carbquik Recipe:Cheesey Bran Muffins

Serves/Makes: 12 regular(3 net carbs) or 6-8 large(6 net carbs) muffins


Ingredients:
1/4 cup Cheese whiz.
1/4 cup Butter
1 Eggs
1 cup Sour cream
2 1/2 cups Flour(1 c Carbquik, 1/2 c. wheat protein isolate(5000), 1/2 c. almond flour, 1/2 c. wheat bran)
1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Directions:
In a small bowl, combine the wet ingredients and mix them well. Set them aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. Mix them well.
Make a hollow in center of dry ingredients and pour the wet ingredient into hollow. Stir this mixture until just combined

6 Large Muffins
Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Let cool.

12 Small Muffins
Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes. Let cool.

I'm sorry, but any recipie that starts with cheeze wiz makes me cringe a little inside. Wonder if real cheese could work

lol i hear you, and I started out intending to use chedder cheese but too often LC muffinturn out drier than I like. I swear though you would never know it was cheese whiz.

note: the chedder cheese would be lower carb though.
I think i'll try the chedder and add a wee bit of glycerine to keep them moist.

how about adding some coconut oil to replace the cheeze whiz? also add the real cheddar too...

don't hi carb cake mixes use oil to add moisture to the finished cake?

ok, let me explain.....lol

about a month ago I made a pizza crust that I used cheeze whiz in. I have never been a fan of cheese whiz but I was told it would make a big difference in the recipe. well I did and it was the best LC pizza crust I have had since starting to eat LC.

Anyway I decided to try it again in another recipe since I had some left. Please dont condem it without trying it. I have found out twice now that it lend a texture to things I have baked with it that has eluded me in other attemps.

My hubby's been LC for a couple of months and really misses pizza...especially made with my homemade crust.

kevinpa; i would never condemn CHeez Whiz because i love it! I was just trying to think of alternatives for someone who wouldn't use it in the recipe...long live Cheez Whiz!

I didnt think you were deb. there are those who really dislike it though. My DW is 1.....lol she wouldnt even try them when I told her there was cheese whiz and bran....she is not a bran fan.
