Default Supplements for Menopause

I posted this once on TOFFs, but got no reply. I'm kind of antsy about getting going on this -- I know it can take some time for the effects of supplements to kick in -- so I thought I'd give it another shot.
Menopause came for a visit this morning about 3:30, and left me in a little puddle of my own sweat.
I'm 52, so it's no surprise, and I have been in peri-menopause since my mid-40s. However, I sure don't like the night sweats, and the hot flashes.
It occurred to me that others might have found some vitamin and mineral supplements that alleviated their symptoms.
I tried black cohosh, and found that helpful, but I'm not sure if I can keep taking it for more than a few months at a time. Does anyone know?
Any suggestions gladly accepted.
Thanks in advance.
