Unhappy What to do...got new scale :-(

I don't know what to do! I have been frustrated with my scale since day one (I weigh every day); it gives a weight, then when you step off it doesn't quite go back to zero--and then gives a different weight when you re-set and get back on. I have been using that second weight, because it usually stays that way for several tries!

So....got a new scale, digital, yesterday (K-Mart had them on sale: $45 scale for $20!). When I got home and weighed everyone and noticed a #5 differene for each memeber of the family. So I was prepared for a higher weight this a.m.

My question now is this: is it OK to change my stats to reflect that I probably started out 5# heavier than what I thought? It's kind of depressing because I really wanted to hit <200 by "30 days on" and that's in a few days! I would have made it too, according to the old scale!

Thoughts?

TIA,

theresa

Theresa,

I think you and I now have the same scale. I got mine at Walmart a while ago. I have to say it's been pretty reliable for weight since it zeros itself every time you turn it on. I know it's depressing, but if you're going to be using this scale from now on, I'd say use the weight it says.

I think you're doing great and you'll lose those "extra" 5 pounds in no time!!

Julie

I would say "Yes" change your stats... if that is what you think is more accurate.... Just stick with it... as you know the scale is just a number... it is more exciting when your clothes fit you better... and you feel healthier...

Keep up the great work!!

This is just a sympathy note. My scale drives me crazy at times too.

The loss is the loss, no matter where you started. I would say use the new scale and adjust your stats to reflect it. Take heart, it is not a weight just a change of the tool you use.
