My name is Peter. My wife and I are on day two of the induction phase and have begun throwing off ketones! She was the driving force on the decision to change things, since she complained that sugar put her on a daily roller coaster of energy and exhaustion. Me? Well, I was very active (bicycling 400-600 miles per week) so never had to worry much about what I ate since it all burned off anyway. But then I shattered my left elbow and cut the tendons in my left hand. The injuries ended my biking days, but my appetite and diet never changed. Carbo-loading was my life! Anyway, I've gained 55 pounds since the injuries, and am in this to lose weight. But the funny thing is my energy level seems to have stabilized since I started this thing.

Love this Website as it's a great source of info. Peter

Hi and welcome Peter!

Congratulations to you and your wife on starting this WOE!
You will see how many things change for the better when we don't eat those "bad" carbs.

Carbo-loading was my life!

Haha! You are not alone. But I like you say "was".
BTW - I've answered your question in the other thread.
Take care!
Alina
