I am visiting the central Florida area... anyone out there still LC'ing? Our local Publix has a lot of LC ( junk) foods... tortillas, bread, pita, flat out bread and dreamfields. I love that stuff..lol the prices are great too!

I'm still here and still buy my LC products at Publix. There is a health food store in Lake Mary that also carries LC products.

What is the name of the Health Food Store in Lake Mary?

I'm in Longwood as well, started this up in late December - doing good soo far but I am kind of stalling out.

Thumbs up Local store

Hi,

The name of the store is Tom's Naturals at 3801 W Lake Mary Blvd, Lake Mary, FL. They have a ton of LC stuff and will order whatever you need if they don't have it.

Good luck on your LC journey.

Just wanted to give this thread a bump and introduce myself. Hellooo! I'm in downtown Orlando. Other people still hanging around?

I'm on low carb for the second time in my life. Lost 60 pounds once upon a time, but got married and lazy and gained that and a bunch more back. I've been going for nearly two months now and am down 20 pounds!

Anyone else still in the thread? Anyone else still have a long way to go to get to goal?

Let me encourage you. I am at my goal weight and still on LC. It's just become my way of life. There are times (I can't believe I'm saying this) that I have to up my carbs (veggies) so I don't lose any more weight. Stick it out, you'll be happy you did.

I'm still here too! Although I'm having issues getting my head in the game this year. I'm managing to not gain weight ... but that is all I can say. Which is better than nothing I guess.

GeeWee, you might want to check out this thread: Love that Florida Sunshine for a more active Florida thread ...

I am orginally from Jacksonville, Fla. but moved here to Pensacola when we retired to be near our daughter and two grand kids. She is our only child and we just wanted to spend more time with her and the kids.
We sold our home in Jaxs and bought a new one here. It has a pool like I love and have to have so i am doing all my exercises in it. This arthritis limits me to what exercise I can do.

Hi from Clearwater! I work in St. Pete and found my weight going up again from simply sitting at the computer too much (and I didn't want to say it, but a fondness for Piroulines and Nutella and all that stuff is my undoing). But I'm on South Beach and the weight is coming off again nicely. My wife is a committed LC'r and has lost near to 100 lbs since 2005--she is a great help--when I'm not cheating on the food.

I always scare her when I come up to her and say, "I have a confession to make" to come clean after a carb binge. After seeing her face go white once too often, I told her, "it's always about food, sweetie!"

Any plans on any other LC get-togethers in the future? Would love to meet you guys sometime...

Anybody in the St. Pete area that knows of a doctor that believes in low carb?

It might be time I find a primary care physician - although I rarely go to doctor. I usually (maybe once per year for minor stuff) just go to Bayfront Clinic but their doctors have pissed me off the past two times.

Thanks in advance!
