I think you might be better to move to OWL after your 14 days of induction rather than hang around on induction longer.

An 'average' induction loss is said to be between 5% and 10% of the total amount you want to lose and you have already lost nearly 25% so have very little resistance to weightloss.

Thanks everyone for your help! I'm afraid I may ask too many questions, even though I've read the book it was an older version so I don't know if things has changed much in the updated diet.

I don't think you can ask too many questions. LCing is basically doing something to your body to lose weight and you want to be informed on what you're doing. I think you're very smart to ask as many questions as you can!

I began on 1/3/11 and for many days I had no color at all and to date I have lost 6 LBS not as much as I would have liked but I'll take it. What I have noticed is the color of the stick seems to change based on the amount of water I consume through out the day the more I drink the lighter the color.
I know this is working , im not sure if 6lbs is average or below average ?

6 lbs in 10 days is excellent!!! Keep up what you're doing.

I see no correlation between being in ketosis and weight loss. I was in ketosis for months with no weight loss. Of course I am also battling hypothyroidism and peri-menopause.

If it makes you feel any better... I went back to my spreadsheet where I track my weight loss and I only lost 7.8lbs in my first 10 days and I started out at a higher weight than you. In the first month I only lost 12.4 whereas back when I started LC in 2004 I lost 27lb in the first month. Our bodies change and what works well for one person at one point in time may not work for a different person because there are a totally different set of variables in play. 6lb sounds about average.

Oh also keep in mind I retain wicked amounts of water when I'm not LCing. I mean one cheat day and I gain back 6lbs in water. Nearly all the weight I lost in the first 10 days was probably water.

I'm really starting to think that my 8lbs was water too, because my fingers are not puffy like they normally are. I would hate to gain that all back if I did have only one cheat day. I am not planning on having one any time soon though. I drink a lot of water during the day now compared to before this WOE, I feel thirstier for some reason. The weird taste in my mouth comes and goes, today it is really strong. I've been just more or less curious about the sticks now; I don't think I need them to prove anything though.

How many carbs do you allow yourself missaec and how did you know when to stop adding carbs in phase 2? I know we are all different I'm just curious. I am on my 13th day of induction so I need to find out how to find out what number of carbs I need to stop at. In the book I read you have to go by the strips, but since I'm not purple I don't know what to do lol. I'm at a pause in weight loss too so I can't go by that either.
