If you have both ovaries, yes, you are likely having PMS symptoms. They do keep working.
In some, like me, when only 1 ovary is left, the second one shuts down shortly after surgery....and stays that way. Not sure of the percentage, but it's not uncommon. My doc warned me prior to surgery and sure enough, within 6 months the one left had shut down...."full blown menopause" is what the nurse told me!
There is a blood test that is done to check for menopause. Can't remember the name of it, but if your levels of something is over a certain level, you're in menopause/the ovaries have shut down. Talk to your doc, but I think you're young enough that you'll continue with symptoms until your 50s. You may find more irregularities since the surgery....or different symptoms....but that's more likely your age, not the surgery. Talk to your doc....sounds like you weren't given enough info prior to surgery.
