I tried Atkins years ago but got bored and I hate feeling deprived! This little voice in my head will sabatoge my efforts if I am, so I had to be realistic and go for this reward meal plan. I love to cook too so this way I don't feel like I have to give up that hobby that I enjoy or stop entertaining friends. In the Persian Gulf there isn't much to do so having friends over for a meal is a bg part of our social life.

I'm glad this forum is available, I was going through the others and couldn't relate on the Atkins plan. Thank you for being here all of you! Even though the reward meal says eat what you want my goal is to keep it balanced and bring in the other food groups. Last night I made a dessert of one sliced apple mixed with 1/2 cup granola type cereal, baked it for 30 minutes and added cool whip. It satisfied my craving for cereal and gave me fruit too. Any other healthy dessert recipes out there?

I have had no problem with regular desserts as long as i keep the portions down. And i fill in with sugar free jello and pudding. I have been losing 1 lb a week since i started CALP back in Dec.01. I love this way of eating . I'm down to 2 meals a day and never hungry. No more nagging hunger pangs.Wawtigress
