I love Captain Morgan's spiced rum with diet pepsi, but unfortunately it gives me violent diarrhea, so I can't drink it.

Talking

I'm so glad you guys are finding out information about LC drinking. I love going out w/ my friends and having a few drinks, but I feel like a lot of LCers swear off alcohol. Anyway, nice to know you all are out there!

Bonnie - I actually emailed the company because the website didn't have anything on the nutritional information. i got a really nice email back so i would suggest to everyone to email food/alcohol companies when you have a question about carbs.

a week ago i was planning to meet friends at PF Changs, so i emailed the company and they actually emailed me practically their whole menu with the calorie, fat, carb, etc. count of all their foods.

it is so nice to come across carb friendly people out there.

Lisa

Question Will the drinking slow down weight loss

Hi, I used to drink once every week or every other week going out with friends, but have not drank since I started low-carbing. I do like to have a few now and then, my question is if I did have some rum and diet cokes or some low-carb Micheloeb Ultra every other week or something will this drastically affect my weight loss? And should you limit yourself to a certain quantity? Just wondering what others experiences are?

Thanks for all your help,
Corey

Thumbs up Watch the soda's you're mixing with!!

Watch out for what you're mixing it with though. There are a lot of hidden carbs and sugar in any sodas that have carmel on the labels. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that if it's diet or if it lists 0 carbs, it's fine. Carmel contains hidden refined sugars which are carbs. This can kill your diet! I've substitued with Diet Sprite, 7-up and sierra mist which is carmel-free. Still tastes great with the Cap'n!!!

Someone a while back wrote to the Absolute Vodka company and they said they do NOT have sugar in their flavored vodkas.

The flavored RUMS (coconut, etc...) appear to be loaded with sugar though.
