Herc's is running ads on FM96 for some blow-out special that they're having, so I stopped in and he's blowing out all of his low-carb food items. He's not carrying it anymore and most of it is half price.

He's still going to have low-carb premade shakes and bars, but the food stuff like muffin mixes and such are being cleared out.

Hi everyone

I too live in London and lost 19lbs on Atkins a couple of months ago and went off for a couple of weeks for vacation which turned into a couple of months so here I am again finally back on. I'm on Day 3 of induction.

Just an update, how many people are from London and is anyone interested in walking together, I work downtown and live in the South end, Southdale & Wellington Rd area.

Has everyone heard and visited the new Lite on Carbs store in downtown London, I stopped in 2 days ago and it's pretty good.

I moved to London back in February. Coming from the Toronto area I really like all the farmer market stands in the area in the summer/fall - the produce there is so much better (and cheaper) than the grocery stores, though the season is coming to an end soon...

I'm also a big fan of Lite on Carbs. I try to avoid buying too many of the frankenfoods but the Davinci syrups are a lifesaver!

I checked Herc's last night and the LC pickings are pretty slim. I checked the Hyde Park WalMart for the Dairyland LC milk and they don't have it yet, though I'm not in a rush as I still have some of the Carb Countdown milk I picked up on the way back from my U.S. trip.

Any interest in some sort of London LC get-together? I know the Mongolian Grill (stir-fries with your choice of meat/veggies/oil/spices) downtown would be a good LC choice, though the parking is a bit limited. Thoughts?

What exactly do people do with the Davinci syrups? What do you put it on and use it for? I see people talking about them alot.

I'd definetely go for a London Get Together and you're right the Mongolian Grill would be a good choice. I haven't been there for a long time, I never really thought about it since I've been low carbing. Do you use any of the sauces on your stir-fry, would any of them be okay?

Anyone else interested in getting together for a dinner?

I suspect there are many uses for the DaVinci syrups but I use them to make LC flavoured coffees. My favourite is the english toffee, and I find a cup of coffee with the english toffee syrup and whipping cream is a nice finish for dinner that kills my "sweets" cravings for the evening.

As for the Mongolian Grill, I suspect the most LC-friendly sauces would be the hot & spicy ones. I tend to mix up my sauces a little as I don't actually count carbs at dinner, I just have to balance them with my protein & fiber.

If so, it's at the corner of Ridout & York street in the little plaza where the LCBO is.

The phone # isn't in the book, it's too new, but I do know that it is open Saturday & Sunday and you can probably call information if you want the number.

Lite on Carbs has a website (liteoncarbs.com) with a map etc.

Note that I don't believe they're open Sundays any more (bummer!)
