Hey Liddie01. I don't know if you have the same problem I do, but what if you cut out cream? I've cut out cream and I'm using coconut oil.

There's a thread in Low carb forum about wheat belly and how dairy raises insulin disproportionately to what carbs it has. The thread was talking about the book Wheat Belly and there were some other links. There was this one that said

Conclusions: Milk products appear insulinotropic as judged from 3-fold to 6-fold higher insulinemic indexes than expected from the corresponding glycemic indexes.
LOL http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/74/1/96.long
Inconsistency between glycemic and insulinemic responses to regular and fermented milk products
ajcn.nutrition.org

So, I've cut it out for the past three days, and lost three lbs. Cautiously ecstatic. I am also gluten free. So, no low carb wraps or noodles.

You can do this again!!

MOMD 4. (c:

I get a little hungry in the afternoon. Not sure what to take as snack, oh wait, inspiration. Boiled eggs. Only thing is someone may complain they smell...
That's the one thing I wasn't looking forward to in going back to work (with other people). Some of them never got out of kindergarten.

I'll think on it some more. Meantime, I think I'll have hot tea..

2b-- I know its a little early in the program but 1 oz macademai nuts, or a whole fat cheese stick might be better during the first 2 weeks. . . just tossing out possibilities. Or just take the whites to work if the kindergardeners can't mind their manners.

back to the beginning-- DH got out the apricots last night. Temptation at my worst hour.

Almost couldn't post my Day 9 today. Yesterday afternoon and all evening was a struggle relative to cravings. I tried a new salad dressing off the salad bar at work yesterday and it must have been higher in carbs than the ranch dressing I usually use. I won't make that mistake again!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions on the dress issue. I actually got one that was thicker material which wasn't form fitting, and didn't look too bad on. It was on sale, so I only paid about $23 for it and could wear it to church or other places if needed. I live in PA where it is freezing cold....today it is 5 below here with a high of 1 degrees. However, the wedding is in Florida so I had to find something that wasn't long sleeved and winter looking. I also have several different "body shapers" which will help to suck it all in and maybe look a little better, but I think my shopping visit will help me to work harder over the next few months which is the incentive I needed. (That thought process came after my initial depression and negative thinking, which almost derailed me!)

I know I've done great since I started LC and at my visit to the doctor's last week, he was really impressed stating that based on my limited medications and overall health, I was in better shape than most people my age. Fortunately, he is supportive of my WOE and has followed the concept of LC himself over the years.

Here's to another day of staying on plan. I'm hoping the small loss on the scale today as a reward for not giving in to my cravings, will help to keep my MOMD number climbing.

Welcome CW and Robyn!

Niudog: the planking sounds interesting. My stomach and core area are my worst relative to muscle tone. I may have to check that out...especially if it is something that doesn't take a lot of time.

Paleo discourages cheese and most nuts. I actually have a jar of macadamia nuts in my bag. I've actually been okay with some black cheery tea. It has no calories, but tastes pretty good. And it's warm, which soothes the 'ole stomach. (c:

Plus, I am avoiding dairy and gluten and have seen scale movement for the first time in months. I don't want to spook it!! LOL

Slipped up last night. I am such an emotional eater! I didn't even get home until later in the evening and still wondered out to the kitchen for a LC snack. Ate a few nuts which were okay and then moved on to "graze" many non-LC, sweet foods. I feel horrible this morning, both physically and emotionally for caving. When I feel so bad physically after eating carbs, I often wonder why I keep doing it. I guess that's the thing I need to work on. I haven't been on the scale yet, so I don't know what the damage is.

Today's a new day. Hopefully, I can post later this evening that I am again MOMD!

MOMD #10 - is it cheating if I don't eat all of my meals? I have been so busy lately I have been missing out on my soup at lunch. I always struggle to make sure I eat enough calories - I am aiming for 1,400/day.

But almost 10 pounds lost in 10 days!!
