So, I been experimenting. With the bigger jeans which fit the wast but are bagging other places. I decided to have my shirt tucked in all day today and to wear a t-shirt that was not baggie but not tight.

Okay so far.

And I said you know let me try on my hubby's pants. Cause is 6'0 235. Size 40x30 or size 42x30. Well the 42x30 fit great in the legs but acutally were slightly to big in the waste.

The size 40x30, I actualy could fit into a little snug at the waste. fit good in the legs..

Problem with guys pants are they are designed for no hips which I have.

But I was really shocked perceptionally becuase I always have seen his pants so much smaller than mine (well they were when I was 352) and now I am like wholy cow I can were these.

so, I went through my closet, and got id of 75% of my clothes. All of them were way too big really shouldn't be wearing them.

So, I don't have much left. But trying them on and going through them and chucking them made me feel real good.

One shirt was from my honeymoon 16 years ago. Too big in the arms and waste...

So I have to say I am really happy today.

And feel a little less self conscious having this tshirt tucked into my pants.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and support!

Happy Dance!!
It is hard to get rid of all those clothes, but dang, it does feel really good! You only need a few pieces that fit you now as your shape will keep changing.
Thrifty Yankee that I am I would drop off at Goodwill at one door, then enter the other to shop. Like your perception about your husbands pants, if you are in a 14W, you also should be near standard misses sizing and it will open many places to shop now. More exciting changes.

There is a question about FBG in the diabetes forum you likely can answer. Thanks for being an inspiration!

I think feeling skinnier is a mental thing. I always think I'm skinnier than I am until I see a picture of myself. Then I see myself naked in the mirror and I think, who the heck is that?!

I haven't been under 200 in probably 21 years if I'm being honest. I've identified with this body and this up and down weight for that long, it will be different to change what I think about myself. I would think it would be like getting a divorce after so long married. You have to think differently, do things differently, etc...

Good luck figuring it out as I'm sure I'm no help, but I think you have done such a great job and just keep telling yourself every day, I'm thinner! I'm thinner! I look good! Keep pics of your old self posted on a wall somewhere to remind you how far you've come.

i remember 18mths ago I was under weight after weight loss and pregnancy and i had no idea.

one day i looked at myself in a photo and realised i looked sick.

Then i cried to my husband. "I dont think ill ever be happy" I longed for tighter sking when I was smaller, always saying "i think i was more comfortable fat" and when im bigger i say "i wish I knew how good it was when i had it.

In the end, we have to become healthy, and strong, but ultimately we have to be ok with not being someone else.

we are who we are, we have what we have. Its ok as long as youre alive.

I've done the same with my husband's coats. In the past, if I grabbed one of his coats to run outside for something, I couldn't zip it up. Now I can!

Tho I could never wear his pants. His legs are shorter than mine and he hasn't got hips. Good thing - don't want him prettier than me.

Whoo Hoo Bonnie! LOL prettier... I just don't want to weigh more than him.

It is bad enough I have bigger feat 5'7 female with 10.5 wide mens. And he is a 6'0 foot make with 10.5 mens.

I don't like it when he takes my old shoes that I throw away and uses them for car shoes!

Default Clothes Shopping

Spent 230 for 1 skirt, 1 dress pant, 1 blue jeans, 4 oxford dress shirts, 2 causual shirts.

Love how this looks, I do better in skirts but the winters are very cold in new england this year. hopefully I will wear it a few times before I have to toss it.

Think I need a belt with this one... I feel self conscious in this. Legs where slightly big but waste tight. Size 18 pants and Size XL shirt, shirt tight at the boob area.

You look awesome!

Don't forget - fit the largest part (i.e., chest) and you can get the rest tailored.

Ive always thought that was great advice from trinny and susannah...if the waist is tight you fit the waist and then get the legs brought in.
You just look so good. You must be so proud, and I love that smile!

WOW...awesome!!

For colder weather, could you add some heavier tights and flats (an oxford perhaps) with the skirts to get through?? Not sure as it's hard to see what material they are, but maybe.
