Sadly soy is a no-no for some of us. I do OK with it. I called and they assured me it was a non-GMO soy, but since that isn't on the label, I wonder if it is true or not. I eat it rarely, but it does taste almost like the real thing. It's much better than the Dreamfields which spikes the insulin of so many people (those "hidden" carbs come out of hiding).

I am trying these tonight ...

I read a review on amazon where the lady suggested after rinse you can soak them over night in chicken broth... and that really helps the smell. I also read to heat them in a dry, not stick pan to get ALL the water out after you rinse them...
I got the Angel hair at my local Ralphs (in the tofu section) on sale for $1.65! I plane to make carbonara sauce which is naturally low carb... fingers crossed!
Luckily I have no issues with soy.

Well, I don't know, it wasn't terrible but not great either... I did not finish it all. Small bites worked better... Also this was my first try at carbonara.. maybe not the best choice.

I love Dreamfield's pasta! Low in carbs and I can't tell it from regular high carb pasta. I never feel bloated after a Dreamfield's meal and it doesn't impact my blood sugars.

No yucky fishy smell, either!

I used to see it the same way as you. Then I learned that it is actually the exact same as regular white flour pasta just coated with a starch blocker(inulin) that can be lost if overcooked or stored in the fridge.

Also, I can't eat what is considered a normal portion. I want the whole box.....so I do not eat it at all.

Well, that may be true but I have dropped 16 pounds by subbing Dreamfields for regular pasta. I consume larger portions of Dreamfields, too.

I've read very mixed reviews on Dreamfields. I guess if it works for you it's good, if not, avoid it. But be aware that it might or might not work and track your results.

Apparently it does not affect blood sugars at the time you would expect it to - 1 to 2 hours after eating it - due to the inulin. However many experience elated spikes in blood sugar. That's great if you do not experience the spikes but many do and those trying it should be aware to check blood sugar later.

Dr Andreas Eenfeldt did some testing and wrote about it:

I tried this product:

http://www.dixiediner.com/skinni%C3...asta-p-234.html

And it tastes pretty good. It's soy though, and although an e-mail to Dixie Diner was responded and they said their soy is NOT GMO soy, without certification I'm leery of an e-mail response.

I'd much rather see it advertised on their products and their website or certified by a third party.

My question:
Is the soy in your skinni spaghetti GMO free?

Thanks,
Bob

Their response:

Yes sir.

I loved that it helped me to take off the weight! Of course, any product may effect individuals differently. I'll continue to use Dreamfields as long as it doesn't raise my blood sugar or cause weight gain~

I still want to know whether almond flour is good or bad!

I don't see how it could be "bad" as it is a natural product made from almonds - unless you are one of the people for whom it is a "trigger" for cravings or affects your body in another adverse way.

Have you experienced problems with it in the past?

No, I've never had any problems with almond flour. I raise the question because some people on almond flour websites have voiced opinions regarding the health properties of this product.

This is some of what is written about almond flour; there's more. I really don't want to believe the negativity regarding this product because eating breads made with almond flour have helped me to drop some weight. I just want to know the truth, of course.
