Yes! I agree! All day long. Glad you posted that. At least I know I'm not the only one. Awful today. This is scary. It's such a nice site, I'd sure hate to lose it.

It crossed my mind that it is Vegans attacking the website, but then I don't have this problem. I'm a contributing member (paid subscriber) and I can get on just about any time I want to. If you're thinking about it, it's worth it.

Humor is nice, but this site is crucial to some of us desperately working to find a way to balance what we eat so we can be healthy. Keep trying Tamarian -- please. Having struggled for six months, so far, to refine techniques, and having been helped to do that by so many knowledgeable and caring people here for many months, I am starting to break through the morass and solve many personal food mysteries -- finally! I can see light. Don't fail me now! (And with success comes 'gratitude.')

Not just switching between threats, but even posting ingredients on my new recipes! Anything that required a 'reload' yesterday caused a stall... Have not tried yet today . . . am fearing the worst.

I have temporarily removed our search index (use Google search from our search options), to see if this is the cause of the problem.

Let me know if you notice any improvements today.

Thanks, T -- Yesterday did not seem as bad as Friday. Since some users are suggesting that preferential online tech treatment is automatically arranged for paid subscribers, can you please comment on this? It would be good for folks to know if you guys have a tiered service arrangement. I sounds, from what you're saying, that the servers don't distinguish between subscribers or nonsubscribers, especially those of us who use multiple computers in multiple locations. But maybe I'm wrong.

Here is the list of benefits of being a subscriber:

http://forum.lowcarber.org/subscriptions.php

Among them is number 7: Priority Access when server is busy (no more "server is busy" messages).

Well, I was getting tons of those messages all the time until I re-subscribed. Now I don't.

I bet the subscriptions went way up recently!

It depends on how you look at it. When the server is stressed, everything becomes slow, for members, subscribed members, moderators and admins. The vBulletin software allows for "load limiting" by not showing pages when server is too busy, and allows exceptions, and we've set up those exceptions to be be moderators, admins, and subscribed members. The server will still be slow for everyone, until this problem is resolved.

Logging in from multiple locations or computers should not be a problem.

I haven't noticed any slowness at all, just those "Server too busy" messages until I subscribed.

I assure you it was not planned. We've probably just hit a significant limit in our database, and just need some trimming to get back to normal. No need to subscribe just for the server message, we'll get things working smoothly after some tests.
