I use a product called Body Glide. It comes in a stick form like deodorant. easy to travel with and it's used by professional runners.

Love the cartoon. I think that's EXACTLY what my scale is thinking If all goes well...let's stay positive...in two weeks it shouldn't be groaning anymore. If it takes longer that's also fine -goodness knows I've been packing it on for much longer.

Thanks for the heads up about the Body Glide.

My scales creak when you stand on them and in my case they creak alot. Still holding up though.

Glad to hear you're still going strong. Same here. Found a post somewhere, sorry can't remember whose it was, which said that this is not a race. Guess we'll just have to focus on that.

I'm sure all the experienced TDC club members out there know all about that.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the Body Glide product in a local store. I am trying it and liking it so far. So it's back to the treadmill for me. Looking forward to taking on the two hours exercise a week challenge once I'm more consistent, which will hopefully be when I'm back from my holiday in two and a half weeks.

Glad you like the Body Glide, just don't use it on your feet, makes them slide around too much in the shoes and will give you blisters.
Looking forward to seeing you on the 2 hour thread.

I'm definitely planning to join the thread. Might even join next week while we're on holiday in NYC. I'm sure we'll be walking more than two hours a DAY there. Especially when my wife starts shopping. I'm already feeling sorry for myself

Hi and welcome! I know I'm a bit late on the welcoming, I just saw this thread sorry!

I hope you enjoy your trip to NYC, it's such an amazing city and you'll definitely be walking a lot! There was one time I went up for the day and ate like a monster but walked so much I lost a pound! If you find the body glide isn't holding up to all that walking thin shorts like Lycra or even bike shorts in other fabrics under your pants are a great alternative!

Again, welcome! Best of luck to you on this amazing journey we're all on!

Thank you so much for the welcome and the great advice. i must say I am finding the journey very interesting and empowering so far. I am very excited about how well my body is responding to low-carbing.

The New York trip is stressing me out though, I must admit. I don't want anything to take me off course. A vacation, especially abroad, feels to me like it could be dangerous. I hope I can resist the temptations and I'm sure new York has many of those on offer.

Body Glide is wonderful stuff and a godsend to those of use with 'ample' thighs.

Ample thighs is such a nice way of putting it. Used the product when playing squash yesterday. Worked great.
