Someone already noticed a link.

I also have been looking at NAFLD because I was diagnosed years ago.

This study shows that NAFLD is induced with a choline-deficient diet and vitamin C inhibits its development:

I'm a more than social drinker (not daily however) and since going low carb my liver function tests have been text book. Not to mention all of my other blood panels. My neighbour is a long time vegetarian who rarely drinks and he has fatty liver disease. His wife has recently gone vegan and lost ten pounds. Oh, but she now has low iron, low b-12, never has energy and is depressed constantly. But at least she has enough energy to be preachy and deny that her 'healthy' vegan diet is harming her. Cripes.

Yeah, it's really sad. I have a friend who went on and on to me about how he was a vegetarian nearly-vegan and how healthy this was. Now he's diabetic, with complications. Gee that helped him a lot.

I hear ya Rightnow. I should add that I was myself a lacto-ovo veg for nine years. So I walked the same side of the street as them for a while. I always felt conflicted about it though, especially when my weight got into the 250 zone and my cholesterol, sugars and trigs were through the roof. That sorta exploded the myth of the healthy vegetarian diet for me.
