Thumbs up

Hi, I agree with much of what has gone before. I started of by getting Atkins and then at the start of the year wanted to know more so brought Schwarzbein - the truth about weight loss, health and eating - Protein Power and Neanderthin. I was very taken with Schwarzbein, perhaps more so than PP and it gave me a much better all round knowledge of how my body works and what I do to it when I eat.

Now that I am upping my fat content and carbs it gives me sound ideas about that.

For ideas about typical menus have a look in people journals.

Congratulations on your success so far.

how about low carb choc grated onto sf jelly...or cream...or coffee !!!

seriously...there are lots of recipies around for muffins and cheesecakes and things. I have a recipie somewhere for choc cheesecake that involves cream, cream cheese, cocoa and lots of nuts as a base...lovely - i will try to find it for you.

Post Cocoa better than chocolate

Most of the chocolate bars are way too high in sugar content.

I found it is much better to use cocoa powder and add cream and a few strawberries. You can add sweetener but my sweet tooth has changed so much since starting Atkins that I found I didn't need to.

Take a look through the UK Supermarkets thread above. Lots of information there.

Until you decide which plan you are following Izzy you won't know what your limit is for the day.

Iceland do Mini-Eclairs (filled with REAL cream) with a little dab of chocolate which are pretty good at 2.6g carbs.
Take care.

i have the montingac book which i have only heard good things about and will read it.

the hollywood diets book sounds like my best bet, i have read the reviews here but didn't help me....

thanks all

Emma: i need some advice on which LC plan to follow ...

I never went out and bought loads of books. There is no need when there is soooooooooo much information right here to sift through. Check out the Quick Links and the LowCarb Plans in the Orange bar at the top of this page for a quick overview. A great deal of thought and research has gone into the information there. Low-Carb Plans Pick out whatever sounds most appealing and stay with it for a good few months. Give your body time to catch up with the changes you will impose on it.

I was already on Atkins when I found this website. I am quite happy with that - it works for me. Once I reach goal I may change or vary it to one of the others but for the moment Atkins and me are inseparable.

Take care.
