Haven't been keeping up with this log but have been keeping up with my exercising...I finished day 27 yesterday and have settled in to doing the 10/10 video 3X's a week and the Walking/Cardio 4X's a week...have taken 3 days off exercising in the last month hence the 27 not 30 for days exercising. I feel great and I look much better...things are fitting nicely and the weight is coming off again.

Boy does this journal need a good dusting.LOL
I borrowed my father's treadmill.
The readings on it make no sense...which is probably a good thing.
So I only can compare what I did last time and work up.
So Saturday night I actually did 20 minutes, got a .75 (which must be miles I assume). Today I upped the speed to 2.6 did 25 minutes, and got .95.
The first time I worked up 1.4, 2.4,then 3.2, 3.6....then worked my way down. Today I did 1.4 for the first minute and then went to 2.6 and stayed there, fast enough to not be able to have a "great conversation", but slow enough for my knee and my breathing. I feel GREAT!

first 10 minutes at 2.4 MPH
Next 15 minutes at 2.6 MPH
Last 5 minutes at 1.8 MPH

Total 30 minutes, total distance 1.18 miles.

Yes I am pleased with myself, it has been a very long time since I have used a treadmill, not even to mention exercised in any "formal fashion".....

Now I am going to figure this out in kilometers....I am used to distance in that now....still do all my baking in empirical measurements except for liquids

So 1.18 miles....1.9 kilometers.
and for my own reference....2 k....is 1.24 miles....my next goal...

First 10 minutes at 2.4 MPH
Next 20 minutes at 2.6 MPH

Total 30 minutes, total distance 1.24 miles.

I did it.......1.24 miles in 30 minutes......2 kilometers......met my goal I set yesterday.

What did I learn, that 2.6 is as fast as I want to go for the next session, it is a good pace, my knee will put up with it. My next goal is 2.4 for the first 5 minutes, keep my time at 30 minutes, so that means 2.6 for 25 minutes.....

First 5 minutes at 2.4 MPH
Next 20 minutes at 2.6 MPH
Next 4 minutes at 3.0 MPH
Last 2 minutes 2.0 MPH then 1.0 MPH

Total distance 1.27 miles/2.04 kilometers

I got to 25 minutes today and didn't think I was going to make my 2 kilometers so I upped the speed to 3.0, which was a stretch, when I hit 3 minutes at that I knew I would make my distance, but thought.....see if you can do an extra minute at that rate, I did it, then I split the last minute at a cool down.
I find my feet get really hot though, and the sneakers are new and well ventilated, not sweaty, just hot.

First 2 minutes at 2.4 MPH
Next 15 minutes at 2.8 MPH
Next 5 minutes at 3.2 MPH
Next 5 minutes at 2.4 MPH
Last 3 minutes at 1.4 MPH

Total distance 1.31 miles / 2.1 kilometers

What I learned, I can do 2.8 MPH but 2.6 is better if I am going to do 15-20 minutes, it is much easier on my knees/legs. I can do 3.2 MPH for 5 minutes, which I was impressed with. I really had to push through the next 2.4 MPH for that 5 minutes.

Accomplished 2 kilometers in 27 minutes, that means I have shaved 3 minutes off that in less than 7 sessions, which I think is really good for a starter. I LOVED that cool down of 1.4 MPH for three minutes.....I was so thankful that I had already reached my 2 kilometer goal!

First 5 minutes at 2.4 MPH
Next 10 minutes at 2.6 MPH
Next 5 minutes at 3.0 MPH
Next 7 minutes at 2.4 MPH
Next minute at 3.0 MPH
Next minute at 2.0 MPH
Last minute at 1.0 MPH

Total distance 1.25 miles / 2.01 kilometers

I had set up to do the same as yesterday, then decided 15 minutes in that I would rather get 5 minutes in at 3.0 MPH, again it was a bit of a challenge, thus I went straight to 2.4 MPH after instead of going back and doing the last 5 minutes for the total of 20 minutes at 2.6 MPH. After 7 minutes at 2.4 MPH I was unsure if I would make my 2 kilometer goal so I upped to 3.0 MPH for a minute, which was not as painful as I thought it would be.LOL The next two minute cool down were really nice, just like yesterday.
Although I did not do my 2 kilometers in 27 minutes today, I am very pleased with myself. I am actually having fun with it and think 2 kilometers a day is soooo lapping those people on the couch

Ok, I am proud of me, I did my work out at 8:45 pm, the "old me" would have never, ever, and I mean never ever, have done it!

I think, me taking control of the exercise, and not letting it "take control of me", is the key. I knew before I started that I could finish up anytime if I wanted. I just had to get 10 minutes in and decide to up the speed or lower it, it was all mine, this is my exercise program. Which is probably why I have always liked to "exercise on my own", I have finally realized that "I am in control of what I do"....and WOW is that freeing.....it was literally a lightbulb moment.

Wow, did that feel great, physically and emotionally!
I find it hard to drink water when I am on the treadmill, so now I am getting it in me.
Number 10.....that is a really accomplishment for me.

I upped my water before I started....result....more sweating and less thirsty when I finished.

This treadmill has a "trip line" you attach to your waist, I hit it twice today and stopped the treadmill by mistake, so since I knew the times and the speeds I did it at, I just reset the treadmill and continued on. Doing the exact minutes and speeds as yesterday. It was a GREAT workout!
