I had to be very strict with myself these last couple of weeks to see this new low. I went back to P1 to get my head back in the right place. This week I will begin reintroducing fruits and starchy veggies.

I wonder how long that 140 will stick around?

I know what you mean Renee. I just re-started Phase 1 myself. Dropped 2 pounds overnight so now I'm at a new low also. (of course my new low is 100 lbs higher than yours ) I'm planning on sticking to Phase 1 until the end of the year, with a few exceptions for holidays.

Hopefully both of our new low weights will stick around for a while (or at least they will become a memory as we continue to go even lower!)

Thanks, Judy If how much J is getting on my nerves these last couple of weeks is any indication, he's GREAT! He seriously needs to get back to work.

Donna, isn't it crazy how much we can drop overnight by eating clean? That you have a plan to get through the holidays is great. Not having a plan for the last couple of months kicked my butt. Kind of hard to plan for something like DH having a heartattack though. Even so, I did learn that just being aware of what/amount we are putting in our mouth during a stressful time is extremely important. If I hadn't been at least a little aware of what I was doing, I could have gained back tons more w/o noticing until it was too late.

OMG Renee - I did not know that your DH had a heart attack. Did that happen before I joined the site? Or am I just clueless and I missed you posting about it? I hope he is doing OK. (((hugs))) to both of you.

Thanks for the hugs, Donna. And no, you aren't clueless. I wrote about it in my journal when it first happened back in Oct., but not anywhere else and I haven't been around these parts much over the last couple of months. So really very easy to miss.

Got here late have had a crazy week. Grandson got sick at daycare Monday so had to pick him so stepdaughter could keep working.

Then he had to stay out 24 hr hoped other grandma could take him but she had plans so had the little guy 2 days in a row. He wasn't too sick but has the same kind of snotty cold/sinus thing I have. I think thats what made him sick think that stuff just got stuck in his throat. I've felt the same way from time to time.

But weight has been close to 212 most of last week and this week time to change stats. I think its here to stay.

6 Party Tips
Whether the next holiday party is a family dinner or an office gathering, if you're committed to a healthy lifestyle, you may be concerned about attending. But if you're following the South Beach Diet, there's no need to fret. "Delicious holiday food fits right in with this plan because it's a lifestyle that you can follow throughout the year," says Dr. Arthur Agatston, preventive cardiologist and author of The South Beach Diet Supercharged. "Eating the South Beach Diet way is about making better food choices — and it allows you occasional indulgences during the holidays." Here are six simple strategies to help you stay on track:
1. Move Into Maintenance. During the holidays, eating the South Beach Diet way gives you more leeway with Phase 3, which Dr. Agatston recommends for both newcomers and veterans of his eating plan. "This maintenance Phase is the best strategy for maintaining weight and partaking in holiday fare," he says, "because this Phase allows for all foods."
2. Eat Before You Go. If you arrive at a party starving, everything will look and smell delicious, leaving you vulnerable to making unhealthy choices. But if you eat a healthy meal or snack beforehand, you'll be able to make better decisions about what you eat at the party, including which items you truly want to splurge on.
3. Meet and Greet. Don't station yourself by the buffet table. Mingle! Holiday parties are a great time to catch up with old friends or make new ones.
4. Bring a Dish to Share. Chances are your host will appreciate it if you bring a delicious South Beach Diet dish for everyone to enjoy. For recipe ideas and additional holiday tips, visit SouthBeachDiet.com.
5. Become More Knowledgeable. Knowledge is power, after all. Make sure you fully understand the healthy eating principles of the South Beach Diet — choosing delicious, fiber-rich, nutrient-dense foods that satisfy your appetite while keeping cravings at bay — so that you can make the right choices.
Enjoy an Indulgence. A commitment to a healthy lifestyle is about making good choices most of the time while allowing yourself to enjoy some sinful indulgences during special occasions. Decide which unhealthy foods — like Grandma's pecan pie — are really worth the splurge and then eat a little of those in addition to the healthy foods you're accustomed to eating

and a reminder from me....don't forget the "3 bite rule"!!!

After keeping a very low profile yesterday, I'm right back on track. I am quite relieved and determined not to let my weight slip ever again. Christmas or no Christmas. For me Christmas will be about family, warmth, friends, candles, Christmas trees and lovely Holidaywood Christmas movies on television. Not a binge party.

I've made reservations at a fresh Wokking Chinese restaurant (where fresh food is being wokked in your presence) for both Christmas days (December 25 and 26). I will only take fresh vegetables, meat, sauce, fruitsalad. Nothing more. No icecream. No whipped cream. That way I can be perfectly happy during Christmas and not pay the price afterwards.
