I hadn't heard of kefir, but I just looked it up on line. Coconut based, it appears? Are you thinking of giving it a try?

PV, what have you read about kefir? I've never heard of it either, but always interested in new products that might help keep me full, without calories or carbs.
The guys at work, football experts, all of them felt like the MO coach went ahead and ran the score up on us and they don't believe the TX Tech one will. - (we can hope, anyway)
I was "feeling" thinner today, so I decided to step on the scale. Delighted to see a couple pounds gone! So I'm down 5 since the end of July. That's the slowest weight loss I've ever had - but considering that I've been eating pizza & drinking rum & coke most every weekend, I'm thankful that the scale moved in the downward direction at least!! It gives me the incentive to stick with the exercise.
Since the school kids have pretty much taken over use of "my" track until dark, I haven't been walking. But this week I've been trying to do my hour long flexibity DVD. I'm thinking today I may put the old Richard Simmons video in, for something a little closer to cardio. Those oldies are still my favorite way to do cardio.

Congrats on the few pound Cats! I know what you mean about the tracks being full everywhere right now!! I can't get on one during daylight hours either. I'm an early morning exerciser myself, as I get up at 4:45 every day and go to our Y, but I like to do track work to improve my running once a week after work. No such luck lately unless I want to run with the cross country teams or be watched by the football teams. Ugh!

My favorite snack that really fills me up is plain pork rinds dipped in unsalted butter. Tastes like popcorn and the fat in the butter fills me up for hours. I don't count calories though, so I don't know how high this snack would be. I try to eat enough at meals to be full for 5-6 hours. Occasionally I don't get enough at meals or need to make it longer than that so I pull out my PR&B. Works like a charm!!

Have a great Friday everyone! Today is a "jeans" day at work. Yippeee.

CB & Cats,

Here's a couple links on kefir:
http://www.tammysrecipes.com/making_kefir

http://www.tammysrecipes.com/about_kefir

So far, I've seen that it's made by various types of milks (1% cows, organic whole cows milk, goats milk), but have not seen it made with coconut...

I first found out about kefir when I was researching the benefits of raw organic milk vs commercial milk (they add growth hormones to commercial cows to increase production-this ends up in the milk, the processing (pasteurization) kills or removes all good-for-you-stuff).

I haven't yet found a good local source of raw milk, I'm pretty sure it CANNOT be sold in stores.

Yes, it is on Fox Sports.
Next week's game against Iowa State is on the Versus network which used to be OLN. (Outdoor Life Network).

Okay, you're gonna have to expand on that one. What's going on? Do tell...
