Hey, Pam. It always sounds like you're getting plenty of protein. I recently had some problems with FitDay not reporting things accurately. Are you sure your counts are correct?

Maybe could you post a full day's menu, complete with exact amounts of everything you eat? I just find it hard to believe you've only been able to get the protein up to 64 grams. There are 7 grams per ounce of protein, so 64 grams is only 9 ounces of meat. Heck, I can knock that off in one meal!

Yeah, what it is with these families who have a "welcome" sign on their bathroom doors? I hear about kids coming in to talk while mom's on the toilet. That would NEVER happen in my house. Well, mostly because I don't HAVE any kids, but even if I did, there are certain places and certain activities that are meant to be private.

Roll call, ladies!

I didn't do FitDay yesterday, and my intake was way down for some reason. I had 2 slices of LC toast with butter for breakfast (about 18 grams of carbs total), about 3 oz of chicken breast with 2 Tbsp butter for lunch, and about 6 oz filet mignon for dinner with 2 Tbsp butter. OK, and I also had a LC margarita made with Baja Bob's mix (0 carbs).

I suppose that adds up to a bit, but it felt like I hardly ate at all yesterday.

I'm here, but where are Anne and Elle? I've been missing them.

Anne's around somewhere. Elle won't be posting on this forum anymore.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here besides me have a toaster oven? I do and I love it. When I have just one little serving of something (a fish fillet, for example) to bake, it makes more sense to use my little toaster oven than to turn on the big oven.

I use my toaster oven virtually every day. Sometimes twice a day. It's great, even, for broiling a couple steaks for DH and me.

Hi, I've been following this thread and considering trying HF at some point.

On another note, do I dare ask why Elle won't be posting on this forum anymore? I always enjoyed reading what she wrote.

Elle is no longer an official member on this board. She is no longer allowed to post here. I don't know the details. Even if you PM me, I still don't know all the details and won't be able to tell you anything I haven't told you here.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I've been responding to more than a few PMs over the past couple of days on this topic.

We just need to all remember what a good person she is and how she helped and supported so many of us. We'll miss her.

Broiling in the toaster oven is a good idea, I'll try that. I never use the broiler on the regular oven, it scares me. Isn't that pitiful?

Wimp!

I can say that because before last year, I never had a toaster oven! Everyone at work said I was nuts because they use theirs virtually every day. I do bake in mine from time to time, but find I have to use a lower temp because it gets too hot too fast.

I haven't weighed myself yet this week because I've been having my period and don't want to give myself a falsely discouraging weight, so I figured I'd wait a bit.

For the past few years, I've been skipping periods all over the place, sometimes for several months at a time. I figured I was going through the change. Earlier this year I tried WW (not the greatest experience), and all of a sudden they came back. Now they're as regular as they ever were. Do you think the low cal/higher sugar diet of WW could have caused my periods to start up again?

I'm very interested in what you all think.

I've come to believe that weight gain/loss is all about hormones. It could be that WW messed with hormones, but then again it could simply be hormones messing with YOU. It's not unusual for your periods to be all over the place in the years leading up to menopause.

I was on the pill full-time (no placebos) for about 5 years, from age 45 to 50. At age 50, my doctor said it was time to come off the pill and see what happens. I had a period about every other month for about 6 months, then two every month for two months, and then none since. I've been without periods for about 18 months now. Good riddance. But now I have 40 pounds extra. Gee, maybe I'd rather have my periods back.

Were you following a high-fat diet during this time?
