The last time I tried vinegar like this, I burned severely from my throat all the way down. I want to try it again but I don't want to cause another episode of problems caused by burning. What do you recommend?

One of the regular guys around here (Rob?? Darryl?? Mike?? has reported good results with ACV, and talked about it enough for me to work up my courage to try it ((shudder)) and I just couldn't take it, no matter how much I diluted or sweetened it.

But all I had was a very old bottle of Heinz.
Maybe I'll look for the Braggs or some good stuff from TJ's, and try glennette's recipe. Maybe.

Thanks for the report, triplemom.

I have to dilute the stuff big time - it's the only way I can tolerate it. I mix it with 8 to 10 ounces of water and a few drops of liquid stevia. The stevia takes some of the "bite" out of it. Some people actually drink it straight out of a shot glass - that would about kill me and I can think of better uses for a shot glass!

I tried it this morning in a coffee cup of hot water and a squirt of honey. So far so good, just a little achey in the stomach. Probably need to dilute it more next time.

Drinking ACV? why not put it on a salad instead, or use in cooking vegetables or meats?

Wanted to bump this thread to see if any of you are still doing the ACV? I have just recently researched this and have started drinking it and also my daughter uses it for ACNE prevention along with coconut oil and has had amazing results.
MY recipe for drinking the ACV is.......I use Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar. I buy apple cinnamon tea (Celestial Seasoning brand) and make an ice tea (good hot too) and add it to that. I make a large jug of it ( 74oz ) and add about 4Tb. and sip on it all day long. You can not even taste the ACV in it. It reminds me of a good quality apple cider.

Oh, this sounds really tasty! I have some Apple-Cranberry tea that I think I'll try it in, too. Thanks for the idea!

I just started using ACV--literally, I just had my first shot and finished dinner, so will start testing in 30 min.

Tonight, I mixed 1.5 T raw ACV into 3 T water. I added 1 drop EZ-Sweetz. It tasted a lot like apple, though the vinegar sharpness was still there as well.

Do you have a specific or regular time you take it PG? Or do you always add ACV to your water?

Can anyone tell me if this helped with their DP? I have good readings when I get up in the mornings (between 85-95) but the longer I"m up without eating the numbers rise.....sometimes as high as 110 two hours after I'm up.

I did a search on remedies for DP and ACV was one of them. Another was milk thistle.

I like to take a bath with a cup of apple cider vinegar. Soothing to the joints and makes my skin tingle.

My position on ACV hasn't changed since 2008...

ACV falls into the category of fermented foods... ACV, of itself, has no more added benefit than the regular inclusion of many fermented foods. Greek Yogurt, pickles, saurkraut, etc...

http://www.healthfulliving.org/reci...s/fermented.php

Correcting Diabetes is not about doing a single thing that will have a direct impact on blood sugar, its about correcting many things in our eating habits so that we improve balanced nutrition. A properly nourished body that is nourished in the right way for a long enough period of time will heal itself.

Fermented foods as part of a regular diet is part of the equation, it is not the final answer. There are no magic bullets and putting too much emphasis on any one food is like not seeing the forest because of the trees in front of you....

Good luck, but improving T-2 Diabetes does not include having to torture yourself with a dose of pure ACV each day. Use it in salads, soups, meat or vegetable dishes, but not every meal and not everyday... Variety and moderation in all we do brings balance, not jumping from one end of a spectrum to antoher...

I decided to give this a try. I didn't mind 2 T of vinegar in a large glass of cold water. It was okay. Then I did a 2T shot... it wasn't all that horrible either. Just had to swallow very fast!
