Im just starting out and kinda confused right now over what i can and cant have for example can i drink diet pop? and beverages that say they have no carbs?? or do they still have them but just hidden? lol as you can see im confused ....I hope you don't mind me asking you so many questions and I understand if your to busy to answer them but i would greatly appreciate anything you can offer.. thank you so much for your time and again CONGRATS!! Hi gang and thanks for the congrats. This was originally posted about six weeks ago and I'm still chugging away.

Taressa - I think what is working for me is that I am continually educating myself on what makes this diet work. If you haven't already, read Dr. Atkins book and read as much as you can from this website. It has made a tremendous difference from when I did this in 2004. I'm much wiser, have much more support, and am less prone to quitting. Another thing that has been a big help is inputting all my food intake into MyPLAN. In case you are unfamiliar with it, you type in what you eat every day and it shows you how many carbs, calories, etc you have eaten. You can also type in your weight, which I do daily, so I can learn what works for me as I progress through this way of eating. MyPLAN can be a little difficult to get the hang of at first, but it has been absolutely vital to my success. You can check out what I've eaten every day for the last seven months by clicking on the little "MyPLAN" button to the lower right, then go to the Browse Menu on the left. I also recommend you take down all your major physical measurements (waist, hips, etc.) and keep track of the inches you lose. It's another good way to stay motivated in case the scale doesn't move. You can see an example of how I track this in my journal. Hit the "Journal" button to the lower right to see more.

Regarding diet soda and other 0 carb drinks: I kept from drinking any for the first two months, but overall I think I do okay with it. Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners can slow some people down. Do without if you can and maybe add it slowly if you feel you need it.

Congrats Rob. You're right, that goal would sound ridiculous to anyone but those of us on a weightloss forum. Great work!
