Thumbs up

Bok Choy: 74% of calories from protein, 17% from fat, 9% from carbohydrate. Per calorie it offers four times the calcium that milk does. Loaded with carotenoids, folate and who knows what other good stuff. One of the healthiest foods for human consumption.
Chana Dal is a very low glycemic pulse. Not for VLC induction, but definitely good for LC.

Bok Choy is often used in Chinese food. You know some of the meet/veggie combos and there are those big white strips that resemble onions but don't have an onion taste when you eat it? That's bok choy. I put it in my stir fry all the time, LOVE it.

Bragg Apple cider vinegar-no calories, no carbs-and lots of great digestive enymes.

One large pickle has 1 to 2 carbs. Are you doing 0 carbs for a year?

To much meat will ruin your kidneys. Too much protein. Stay away from Red Meat. New studies show super high increase risks to cancers.

Eat Chicken and fish.

Really?? Like to show us some proof of that? Some studies, perhaps?
If you have a look through our Research section, you will see that the so called studies "proving" red meat to be harmful do no such thing.

Protein can be a problem for someone with pre-existing kidney failure, but if your kidney function is normal, protein is just fine, in any form.

The perfect food for any low carb plan is meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheese and low GI vegies.

New studies show all kinds of crazy stuff! Studies have shown increased risk of cancer for just about EVERYTHING!

I'm super sick of everybody with all their conflicting studies.

I don't follow studies. I follow what works for me.

WRONG!

I wrote a blog post about this topic...

As for the red meat, the latest "study" lumped processed meat and red meat together. Faulty study dude.

I remember (true story) hearing, decades ago, about a study proving that too many carrots would give you cancer.

I imagined in my mind, that "being a lab rat force fed massive doses of carrots constantly" could give you cancer.

At that point I just quit worrying about it altogether.

The serving size given on the side of most bottles of vinegar is small enough that they can claim it has no calories. Common table vinegar is five percent acetic acid, a short chain fatty acid. A cup has about 50 calories. No carbs, though.

I don't know if I'd call it the perfect food, but lately I've been having my Carlson's cod liver oil mixed with full fat sour cream and vanilla whey powder. Makes a delicious lemon flavoured pudding.

Too much meat will ruin your kidneys, and if you forward around this email, Bill Gates will send you $2500.
