Heather Mills to Rid the World of Meat Eaters

Heather Mills To Rid The World Of Meat-Eaters

Activist Heather Mills is campaigning to rid the world of meat-eaters - in a bid to end global warming. The estranged wife of Beatles star Paul McCartney will appear at Speaker's Corner in London's Hyde Park - a specially designated space where public speaking is allowed - to voice her views promoting vegetarianism. The one-legged former model is convinced that plant-rich diets reduce environmental harm.

Mills has also been lined up to appear in two 'green' advertisements for the Vegetarians International Voice for Animals (VIVA) organization, blaming carnivores for rising earth temperatures. One advert will see Mills poke fun at her disability - she lost her right leg in a 1993 accident - telling meat-eating environmentalists, "You haven't got a leg to stand on."

Mills says, "End your involvement in this vandalism overnight. Change your diet, change the world!"

Unfortunately Idealism is not science, and emotionalism is not fact.

Does that include meat eaters of other species? Does anyone have a big cat to take to watch her rant?

This woman really has lost the plot, let's rid the world of Heather Mills and save an awful lot of hot air. She's only been a 'veggie' for the publicity it brought trying to outdo Linda, waft a bacon buttie under her nose and watch her snap for it.

I saw her interviewed about her alleging a grand conspiracy against her and all and thought she sounded like a bit of a loon, but now it looks like it's confirmed.

Apparently she hasn't bothered to read anything factual about the actual resources that go into feeding people grains and veggies vs. meats.

We can only assume that he was still so distraught about Linda he wasn't thinking clearly.

This theme of meat being a major source of greenhouse gasses has been an ongoing narrative of the PETA circles the last couple of years. I suspect that, yes, if we all eliminated meat we might make some fractional difference. But that's rather like eliminating exercise, sex or other natural human functions. We were made to eat meat, and the primary agenda here isn't really environmental. They have found another angle.

Fine for them, so long as it never makes it into public policy.

(And having raving nutjobs do your talking doesn't help)

The whole global warming thing is as much a giant political thing as low-fat. Much like lowfat, the message is so pervasive from so many angles, using factoids and many things out of context as demonstrations, that it seems like a no-brainer to most people. You'd find there is a significant--and many-serious-scientists- collectively--argument on the other side of that issue, too.

Getting rid of animals to solve global warming is really illogical. Getting rid of people would be far more effective.

I was thinking if we fed the PETAs to the tigers we could solve three food problems -- theirs, the tiger's, and meat-eaters' -- all in one. ;-)

My dad just sent me this email joke -- this is sorta funny and I don't know why but to me vaguely relates ;-) --

A South Dakota Department of Highways employee stopped at a farm and talked with an old farmer. He told the farmer, "I need to inspect your farm for a possible new road."

The old farmer said, "OK, but don't go in that field."

The Highways employee said, "I have the authority of the State of South Dakota to go where I want. See this card? I am allowed to go wherever I wish on farm land."

So the old farmer went about his farm chores. Later, he heard loud screams and saw the Department of Highways employee running for the fence and close behind was the farmer's prize bull. The bull was madder than a nest full of hornets and the bull was gaining on the employee at every step.

The old farmer called out, "Show him your card! SHOW HIM YOUR CARD!!!!"

I think the world will be a better place when people like this loon die off due to their unhealthy diets.

Linda McCartney was a vegetarian and died of cancer. That's just one case so statistically means nothing, but it did make me wonder about the health of the frozen "health" foods I found with her name at the grocery store. I'm sorry things didn't work out for Heather and Paul, regardless of what they ate. He was part of my inspiration to take up playing bass, along with that guy who was with the Tijuana Brass in the 60's.
