Hello!!

Others with pedometers...I'm thrilled!!

I've been keeping track of my steps using a pedometer for a few weeks now. I'm addicted and it has motivated me to walk as much as possible.

I started walking to work this week. It's about 5 miles. Today I logged 11142 steps on my morning walk to work. I'll probably end up with 15,000 steps total for the day. My goal for this week is to hit 20,000 at least once this week. I did 16,000+ yesterday.

Glad to find y'all.

Hi Nicky,

Wow, you are really doing some walkin! I'm just starting out. Trying to do a mixture of pilates and walking. What kind of pedometer do you have and where did you get it, if you dont mind me asking? My dh bought me on from walmart the other day. Im not sure if i like it or if it is accurate. i did calibrate it...AFTER my first walk...duh, guess I should have read the instructions first! I havent tried it since then. I may walk tomorrow.
Welcome!

honeysgurl,

I have an Omron model HJ-112. I got mine through Amazon.com and I ordered my husband's through Walmart.com. Both were about the same price...less than $20.

I also use a site called Walker Tracker to keep track of my steps. Most the walkers there use the Omron since it is known for being the most accurate.

woohoo Stacy! way to go.

I didnt do the pilates last night. will try to do better tonight.

Is your pilates the one with the circle? I looked at mine yesterday to see if one was a 40 min workout, and it is. not sure if I am ready for that yet. Im so lazy! I know I would feel so much better if I would just do it.

Happy 'step it up' day everyone!

so far my activities for the day include, general house cleaning, cleaned out closet, scrubbed and washed down rug outside, and I lasted about 5 minutes on my FIL's Schwin stationary air bike. It was fun at first, but then my butt started killing me. I have PLENTY of padding back their, but obviously not in the right places! Then my legs started giving out on me. It has the arm handles that move back and forth also to propel the tire (fan), so I alternated from legs and arms. It still kicked my butt and I only lasted 5 min. Oh well, may do it again tomorrow. It didnt help that dh was being a spectator!

I wish I had been wearing my pedometer today so I could see how many steps I have made. Between our house and FIL's house, I am sure it is quiet a few.

Trying to brace ourselves for this weather. I have all my candles and matches out. Laundry is caught up, kitchen is clean, house is vacumed and mopped. (am I the only one who freaks out before bad weather and thinks my house has to be just spotless? ) My reasoning is, if we lose electricity for any length of time, I would be ok for a while, everything would have already been done. I just think it is funny, cause I freak out. Bright side: I burned extra calories!

My kids are worried what they will be able to do tomorrow since it will be stormy. I will let them watch some t.v., but then I think we will get the board games out.

I had to pick up many things so I was at one end to another end.

That had ta do a lil somethin'

People were kinda starin', but I don't give a hoot!

I did my 5 miles this morning. It was very windy and I had to walk into the wind most of the time which made the walk a bit more difficult. A cold front with rain hit here this evening and we are expecting more rain tomorrow. Not sure how I'll get all my steps in. Perhaps a trip to Wal-Mart and the mall may do the trick.

Keep up the great work ladies!!

way to go clever chicks on using walmart to walk....I would have never thought of that. We have 'mall walkers', but it is like 40 minutes from where I live. Dh and I talked about going to park (6miles away), but decided with everything going on with his dad, we better stay at home. We were supposed to go on a 'mini trip' next weekend, but I guess in the light of things, that will have to wait also. family first!

Still waiting on the weather to hit. I hope you ladies are both ok. I see yall are both from Tx. I'm in N.E. La, so it will be a little later for me.

I feel good about my activity level today. I have definatly not been seditary as usual! Going to do pilates tonight before bed. Take care!

Man, The wind is horrible here! {I was typing this message a few minutes ago and then the power went out.}

They said it could get up to 50 mph!

Poor ZuZu is a nervous wreck! She hates noises and windy conditions.

She is stayin' glued to me just like a lil kid.

The dumpsters here on complex are drivin' me crazy!

The wind blows the lids up and then they crash back down.

I had to go out and take all wind chimes down. Too windy for wind chimes, now that's nuts!
It's gettin' kinda creepy!

I may have ta power things down bc of the wind.

No walkin' today..

I'll do 40 mins of pilates..

Hope y'all have a great day!
