Ok, so it seems like this little club of ours is in agreement that we need to get lives, go to concerts, consort more.....
In an effort to do some of this I entered the Monday Magazine contest for a makeover. My charming daughter suggested that a new haircut, colour and style would be in order. The ad said to explain why I deserve a makeover so... drum roll please.....
Here is my entry (with phone numbers removed of course!):
Dear Monday Magazine,
Here's why I need a makeover…… I am 39 years old with an almost 18 year old daughter whom I frequently embarrass with my boring hairstyle and bad colour job and my sad excuse for a casual wardrobe (who says Disney sweatshirts aren't cool?).
She tells me that I need to update my look as I have looked pretty much the same for her whole life. I am also told that I should learn to use make up properly and do my nails a little more often (once a month isn't enough?).
Next July I turn 40 and I need to do something before then to not LOOK 40 when I get there. I'd also like to be mistaken for one of the graduates when I go to my daughter's grad ceremony in May.
When I graduated high school in 1984, I weighed 235 lbs. I am down to a much more sensible ~145 these days and really want to show it off. I had laser eye surgery last year to get rid of the coke bottle glasses. I'd love to live vicariously through my daughter at her grad and look up to date and "cool" - even by her tough standards.
I can be reached during the day at xxxx or in the evening at xxxx.
HELP ME!!!!
_______________
My office mates fell off their chairs when I read it to them.... Hope I win!
