The noodles do not soak up sauce like regular pasta, so you can use less sauce. They do soak up the flavor however. You can cook them longer if you wish. It does not seem to change them much. However, you cannot freeze them. They come out exactly like cotton twine!

We are now regulars at the local Oriental market. The noodles come in plastic packages packed in a liquid. They keep indefinitely in your refrigerator. You can buy them white (called tofu style) and natural. The natural looks kind of disgusting. It's clear with brown dots

Love them! So far I have made them with pesto sauce and grilled chicken, with garlic butter and parmesan and in chicken/egg drop soup. In PA they can be found at Whole Foods and at Trader Joes. I have also ordered them online but they are perishable so should be refrigerated.

The Konjac ones will keep up to 6 months without refridgeration. One reason I go with that brand. Fridge space is at a premium and I can't be taking it up with noodles.

Auntie,

I had search all over for them, Even the oriental market. I could not find them.

Then one day there they were at the price chopper in Worcester on West Mountain Street. The spaghetti like noodles were $1.99 this week. The fettucine were 2/3.00.

WOW! I had some shirataki today for the first time ever.... Made a 15 minute stirfry. I brown strips of thin sliced beef flank steak in a skillet and after it had browned, I added some soy sauce, minced ginger and garlic and a handful of frozen broccoli spears. I rinsed the Shiritaki in hot tap water, cut the noodles shorter, then drained them and threw them in, and its better then what we get at the chinese food place! I loved this meal! My 6 year old ate it all up too.

I got the House brand Tofu Shirataki noodles and speaking as someone that DETESTS tofu, I couldnt taste it at all. They tastes exactly like angel hair pasta and were not rubbery at all. They were $1.69 in my local asian market.
