Hi fellow Texans,

Dark Fairy you came to the right place. This broad is full of helpful people. I used to go to Lake Conroe when I was younger.

Hello,

I thought I'd bump this up. Since I haven't seen many of my fellow Texans around lately.

Just a quick note -- I was in HEB's Central Market (the original one, I believe) the other day, and I noted that among their ketchup (catsup) selections, they had Heinz One Carb! Woo-hoo!

I'm on the last bottle of Hellman's that I bought a couple of years ago when my local "regular" HEB was closing it out, and I thought I was going to have to get my ketchup online. Great Health Nutrition (up past the Arboretum on 183) has a number of low-carb items (like a selection of Da Vinci syrups, last time I checked), but they didn't have the Heinz One Carb (or any other low-carb catsup, IIRC).

Mgellar, welcome to the board.

I'm still here. Sometimes this thread is active & then it dies down for a while.

Hey guys...it's good to see some life on here!!!
I've been going through alot of tough life changes this past year and a half that led me to gain 50lbs(I originally lost 40lbs last time I posted a comment on this thread) so I put back on the 40 and put on an additional 10lbs in 18 months time.

Lately I've been feeling very motivated and enthusiasticto be back on plan and I want to share it with you guys!!! So far I've lost 9 of the 50lbs. I want to be at goal weight by Jan 2010...I think that is pretty reasonable.

I guess one good thing about living in Houston is that I don't feel the need to bulk up for hibernation.

Default Live in Irving, Work in Richardson...

Hey mgeller87, I live in Irving, but work in Richardson.. fairly new to this group...

Question for you... what are the best places in/around Richardson to get a low-carb lunch out (other than McD's/BK/Wendy'...)? I'll sometimes go over to Golden Skillet, but they are a little expensive. (I pack most days, but sometimes I'm a little behind getting my 4yo ready to go!).

cheers,
Marion

When I was living in Kerrville I would go to the local HEB and hit up their salad bar almost everyday. If you can find a salad bar in your area, then I recommend checking them out. Just make sure to put protein in it!(hardboiled eggs, grilled chicken, salmon, etc.)

It's great to see so many Texans and Houstonians. I live in the Clear Lake area. Whoever asked about Tookie's................I drove by it the other day it looks like it went down with Ike. Still there but it looks like it got swamped......flooded out.

BTW I used to live in San Antonio for eighteen yrs. After that Paris TX for nine years and then down here in 01.
