Hello fellow Texans,
It's good to see more of us here. I haven't been online much lately due to a demanding baby but I need to start losing some of the weight that I had put on.

Sxb, Where's Mc Kinney, is that in central TX, it sounds fimliar?
It's not cold here yet but next week it's going to be & their saying that we may even get alittle snow.

Good Luck

howdy I'm in the Dallas area. you'd think it'd be easy to low carb in such a "carnivorous" state. Well, it would be easy if I'd stay away from Jack in the Box :P

Hi Mike,
Thanks, Yes, She is my 1st baby. She's 5 months on the 15 & is about 13 pounds & close to 25 inches long. When she was born she weighed 5 ibs 10 oz. & 19 in in length.
Valerie is growing fast. I've been able to stick with the breast feeding. But it makes me very hungry, I think even more then the pregnacy did. I lost 20 pounds real fast but the rest is going to take much more of an effort. I'll probably go back to work in the summer. But I hope to have one more & stop at two kids. I have to have them close together because of my age.

I see what Rissa means here I struggle w/ Mexican restuarants & BBQ.

Josie

I'm in Dallas and have been low-carbing for about three days. I know, I know, I'm just starting, but I'm determined!

Can someone tell me more about the Meat and Eggs thing?

Hello fellow Texans and military brats!

I live the farthest south of those posting thus far living 45 miles west of Corpus. My dad was in the Seabees and was stationed in Corpus and Houston quite a bit although I was born in RI. <sigh!>

Mike, I see you are also a fellow cyclist. (and favor clip pedals.) Before I was diagnosed with Hashimotos thyroiditis and then thyroid cancer I was a long distance cyclist riding around 115-120 miles a week. I just got my bike 'tuned up' and am hoping to be able to get back to riding after taking off for so many years. I'd love to hear about your riding!

Of all the towns listed so far Marion and Grand Saline are the only two I haven't heard off; my daughter lives in New Braunfels, we have a place in Kerrville and I drive a truck for a living. I love reading y'all's posts and being able to visualize where each of y'all live!

Fluffy, thank you for the chicken fried steak recipe!! I've got to get some almond flour tomorrow over in Corpus at Sun Harvest so I can try it.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter, Josie! Being a mother myself I know what a special time this has to be for the two of you.

I hope this thread keeps up. I sure love reading about fellow Texans in this sea of others.

Default A fellow Texas here.

Hi all. I'm over near Beaumont (almost in Louisiana!!). I have been lo carbing since January 8 and doing okay. I don't have any cravings right now and am doing well. I have been going through some really tough emotional times with my 16 year old son and I haven't had a problem so far and usually things like this would send me DIRECTLY to the DQ drive in! Not so this time and I thank Adkins. It is really just right for me. Glad to find a thread for us Texans!

Hi y'all,
It's good to hear from some more Texans.

Dstartz,Thanks.
Marion is a few mins south east of New Braunfels. I used to work in NB, I really like that town but it's really becoming a boom town.

I know people from Beaumont, Hunt & Kerrville. Good luck to all.

It's been good weekend here but then time changed & it's been a little hard on the baby plus she's teething.

We really needed the rain so that was good. It's starting to look like spring around here.
