Default How about....Lavender Vanilla...

If you have been following my green tea ice cream thread, I just finished a batch of lavender vanilla ice cream---sublime.

I couldn't stop licking the spoon or the hopper. I used the same basic custard recipe except I wasn't paying attention and used 3 egg yolks instead of 2. Steeped 2 TBS of lavender flowers in about 4 oz hot water for about 2 hours, added the paste of 1 1/2 vanilla beans and 1 TBS of Penzys double strength vanilla extract. Holy Moly this is good stuff. Thank goodness it only makes 4 servings.

mmmm I love lavender! That sounds amazing! Lavender custard or creme brulee also sounds wonderful now. Of course I'll have to wait until next week to try it since I try to limit my sweet foods.

Sublime reminds me of tea that I bought once. It was made with lime leaves and a bunch of herbal items. Incredible.
