Heh, not really. The Steelers are a better team then people think, and so far they have already vanquished one overrated horse team.

Actually he woudl be riding a donkey

I just wanted to interject that church activities are the worst....sugar laden foods stuff for the kiddo's and potlucks and such.
This year there were very few gatherings without food...so most of the time I did not go since I was starting this wol and wanted to stay strong.
Ironically, I beleieve that church is the very place we should promote healthy eating. It all works together holistically in my humble opinion.

We take the kiddo's cheese, apple slices, grapes, and serve water when we take our turn for sunday school.

What other good healthy low carb non sugar snack woudl be good for kids about 4-9. Maybe you all could share some good ideas

Steamed veggies with melted cheese on them would be a good dish to take.

Broccoli w/ melted cheddar is an idea.

And lots of wine, dont forget!

The last thing we need is to revert to a lifestyle from 2000 years ago. Stoning for an adulturing wife? Oh wait, that still happens today. woops.

Personally I think people are placing way too much weight on their personal religion-this new "diet" trend is just another symptom of that problem. Forget what GOD would want you to do! Use your own conscience! Do the right thing because you KNOW what the right thing is. Its called personal responsibility.

Hey...I think they are on to something with seeing what Jesus ate..afterall Atkins is all about whole natural foods...and the less processed a food is the better it is for us...so whatever reason one chooses to eat that way, it would no doubt be good. (I don't think an all vegetarian diet is good for one's health though)

Does it? I can't picture a cheated-on husband handing his dirty back-stabbing wife a joint & saying "go on, smoke it! I hope this teaches you a valuable lesson!"

There is something to this. It seems to be the norm that one must look to external authority for truth, whether that is spiritual, moral or practical (as in diet/health matters). On the other hand, not all religions do this (Unitarian Universalists, Quakers, Buddhists, and others I'm sure - I'm a UU myself).

I thought some Buddhists had dietary restrictions based on religion.

Buddhism is, like most religious sects, quite varied-I think practice is a very personal thing for buddhists, its all about internal peace and harmony-and however you find that in yourself, is good. Some are vegetarians, tho. Some believe in reincarnation. If I could slow my brain down a little, I could practice it with my personal vices intact-meat, booze, chocolate, sex. It would take more work than Im up for, however, so I havent jumped in. Im not much of a peaceloveandhappiness person, and envy those who are.

BIG fan of stephen colbert here. Ive finally developed a crush on a celebrity! Scathe-a-licious!
