Here's another idea, as I'm still working on part 2 of My PLAN, which includes recipes. We can make those tags searchable from within MyPLAN. However, those recipes would need to be entered through the My PLAN recipe editor.

How do you guys feel about that? Is it too much work to enter the recipes there (ingredients one by one)? It's a bit more work than cut and paste, but makes it really accurate in counts, and viewing all the nutritional details.

I haven't really used my Plan because I have Fitday at home and it already has all my custom stuff in it. After 3 years, I got a ton of data I'd hate to xfer to another program!

I think you misunderstood the suggestion. You don't have to use MyPLAN or transfer anything.

Just when posting a new recipe, type it from the recipe editor, instead of creating a new thread for that recipe.

So you wouldn't have to enter all the nutrional data for all the special ingredients you use?

No, the nutritional data is calculated automatically from the ingredients. You just select the ingredients from the database. Some special ingredients may need to be entered only once as a custom food item, but those too will be soon by populated in the database.

In Fitday, the web version, that custom ingredient list isn't shared I don't believe. Is it shared in MyPlan? That would be a huge bonus if it were.

By "shared" you mean viewable and selectable by other members? They will be. Here's how it will work, say you went through the effort to enter an item like Splenda, or another LC item that does not exist. You will have a button to publish/share this ingredient with others. The item will then be validated and made public, so others searching for it will find it just like any other item in the database. The same will be done with recipes, where they can be shared as well, and recipes can be used as ingredients as well.

Ah! That will be much nicer than the alternative. Yes, having a database of recipes that are searchable would be excellent!
