I have to agree. But I still think if your losing one pound a week , you should hit the gym. I could loose one pound a week eating pizza in bed.

If it's all so effortless, may I ask how you got to over 300 lbs in the first place? I really feel that you're more interested in being insulting than actually learning anything from the answers you've gotten so far.

IF, and I stress IF, you stay with low carb and this forum I can hardly wait to see the threads you start, most likely with titles like "help! I'm stalled!" or "help! What am I doing wrong?". My response - "oh, how the mighty have fallen".

I like to think I'm one of the most supportive people on this forum and this is the first time I've ever written anything so negative here, but your ignorance and insensitivity deserves it. I'm suspecting you enjoy lighting a match and then stepping back to watch the fireworks and have no true interest or investment in the responses to your thread-starter, other than to incite people.

Good luck with your attitude - you're going to need it. OTOH, if you stick around the forum, do some research on low-carb and physiology and maybe get down off your high horse, you could truly benefit.

One pound a week is very healthy. People with your weight loose often fast and then have the problem of too much skin for the body. Very bad sight.

Go slow. Btw, by eating 'pizza in bed' you will loose a pound allright, but it will be muscle!

I have no idea why someone could be so judgemental after only 3wks following a new way of life and never even reading the book. I do have weeks I lose more than a pound sure but that seems to be my average right now. Just don't know how 3wks can make you an authority and now you know all and we are all lazy since we aren't losing 5 pounds a week like you. I have been on this board and on Atkins for 12wks. I am still learning new things from these nice people everyday. I have read the book 3 times also. I don't see how you could be so rude and hurtful. This is a support forum. If your perfect and don't need any help at all why are you here with us lowly 1 pound a week losers? Give yourself another couple of months or so then see if your still at the rate you are now. Oh and techinically according to the book if you did eat pizza in bed you would probably not lose at all since every time you knock your body out of ketosis it can take a couple of days to get it back into ketosis.

Vince,

Now would be a good time to start your 'Pizza in Bed' diet plan. Try it for 6 months and then post on your 26 pound weight loss.

I was just joking about the pizza in the bed. All im saying is no matter how slow you loose weight, if you work out more you will loose faster.
As for loosing fat to fast and having alot of skin, thats what you goto the gym for and lift weights.
I got to be 300+ pretty slowly , but I was laid up with a broken ankle for about 7 months and packed on about 40lbs

If that was all you were saying no one would have been offended. OF COURSE you lose at a faster rate if you work out. Gee thanks for informing us!!

Actually some people have their weight loss slow or stall when they work out. Again, people are individuals and vary in reactions.

I go to gym work out 4 days a week 35 min cardio and 3 reps of 12 on 12 different machines. I eat between 1200-1400 calories a day and 30 grams of carbs all monitered closely on fitday. I haven't lost an ounce in 4 weeks. I haven't lost inches either. My insulin levels are good because I am diabetic and monitor blood sugars 6 times a day. I NEVER cheat...EVER I am diabetic I cannot afford to.
So if your a genuis....tell me why you think it is I am not losing weight?
I am not upset about it, I have been this weight some years ago for quite a long time. I am sure my body "thinks" we're in our comfy zone...it's stopped at the most recent place it remembers us being for a long time and it assumes I'm ok with that. It will figure out as I continue this journey I want it to go even lower.
My lab tests are perfect, I am on no meds now for anything and I know it will eventually pick up again because this is a way of living not a quick weight loss plan. It's for my health.
Before you go insinuating that people "must be cheating" Learn somthing about your subject matter. Only the uneduacated would assume we are all the same chemically, physically and spiritually...all these things make us individual and unique and play a part in how our bodies respond to this WOL.
Please learn more or you are soon in for a rude awakening and possible failure when it happens to you, you won't stay losing at the rate you are most likely not many do and without some knowledge that will be where you will be doomed to fail.

Ok Vince, now this is the better way to react.

I know, because when I started on this forum I too reacted in my enthousiasm and energy too rude to others.

I am sure that if you continue to have succes it will be along a road of blood sweat and tears, and that will make you more humble and more sensitive to the problems and feelings of others.

So this weight thing will give you more benefits than only on the physical level
