You're not alone in your feelings Beeblebrox!! I too, feel very much the same as you....I think that becoming obese as an adult, can cetainly be a different experience as we do know the difference of what it feels like to live in the world as a normal size person....and then what it feels like as an obese person...and back again.

I too, feel like I'm reclaiming my life after being morbidly obese for the last 15 years!! Many people ask me how I feel and when I tell them I feel like I'm taking my life back...they don't know what I'm talking about because they don't remember me as being a normal size. But thats OK...because I've always had that person inside me..always crying inside, trying to get back out again.

The things that I lost as a result of my weight gain are very overwhelming to me...hard to even talk about. Makes me so sad....BUT now I'm finally having success and for this I'm truly grateful!!

Yes, Judy, I think you are right about becoming obese later in life. I guess my self-image became firmly entrenched when I was younger and thinner!

I found a little more of myself!!!!, i am being able to start writing my poetry again, it isn't done yet, i will put it in my journal, but, since the thread is about losing ourselves, i thought i would announce i found a part of myself i had lost under the blubber
