Default Xylitol may prevent and reverse osteoporosis

Abstracted from http://www.xylitolwarehouse.com/about1.html

Studies have shown conclusively that xylitol promotes the remineralization of tooth enamel damaged by dental caries. This happens because xylitol increases absorption of B vitamins and carries calcium through the intestinal wall, to places it wouldn’t go otherwise. Animal tests show that xylitol brings calcium to bones through this same mechanism, helping to prevent and reverse osteoporosis. For additional information see

Wow, that's great to know, thanks for posting! I have some gum that I got from a low carb store that was going out of business. I chew it after eating away from home because I hear it actually kills some of the bacteria that tooth brushing dislodges. But I don't see it around anywhere else. It'd be great if it was available in mint form.--Gail
