Hey there, Chloesue! You're riiiiiight there at the border, about to cross over. Great job keeping up your exercises -- I'll bet you whoosh into Onederland soon, but because you've been using weights, you'll be that much leaner when you get there! Way to keep focussed!!

Good luck to you Nancy! Keep doing what you've been doing and eventually your body will catch up to all the hard work you've been doing!

Looking forward to seeing you cross that border!

Hi everyone! Thanks Joanee for suggesting I post in here. I've popped in here occassionally to read how you all are doing. You are all very motivational.

I am starting the next leg of my journey...on to the border of Onederland. I've been focusing on raising my metabolism for the last few months and haven't tried to get to Onederland, so this ought to be fun. I know that I could *somewhat* easily cut calories and get to Onederland pretty quickly. I've done that before and cutting calories works quite well for me. BUT, I really don't want to lose any muscles, so I'm taking it a bit slower than most. I'll be happy with losing 1/2 to 1 lb scale weight per week, and hoping I'm only losing the fat.

I'd like to thank everyone for your encouragement on striving to get to Onderland.I know that it's going to take me a little longer to get there since I started using free weights early last week.

To be honest I would rather be trimmer and weigh a little more than weigh less and not be as trim.I learned first hand the big difference exercise makes.I was exercising faithfully for almost two years then let it slide late last year when my life got rather hectic. It's still hectic since I take care of my 6 month old granddaughter and 4 year old grandson while our daughter and son in law work during the week.

When I tried on a pair of capris from last summer and could no longer wear them I decided that I'd better get back to exercising. My weight is about the same as last summer so I know it was due to the lack of exercising at least 5 times a week.

I will keep at it and eventually cross over to Onderland. This thread is very inspiring and just the push I need to keep going.

Nancy

Congratulations Connie! That is such a great milestone to hit!

I would also suggest when folks in this thread hit a big milestone that you also post a new thread here in the TDC to announce it. Not everyone comes in to read this thread and I just know they would like to see your success! It is soooo motivational.

Connie, what a lovely gift you gave yourself.

You know, they're just numbers, but there is something about moving into the next century down that feels so encouraging, a mental relief.

I've heard so many people slip when describing their weight--they'll say, "132," and not even hear themselves, when they meant 232, and so on. I think it's 'cuz we want it so much. . . .

Here's to a better summer because you will be lighter and it will be easier to move and do, and you will be cooler and more comfortable. WTG!

I am seeing so much wisdom and self-support here--refusal to rush the goal at cost of muscle, patience, recognition of what a new weight-training program can do. We will make it, all.

Kathleen
