Default Ok, I'm ready for a trip to Margaritaville!

Okay guys,
I know we have a lot of people really, really close to crossing that border or hitting different goals they have set....I know you are doing it, so let us know so we can head over to Margaritaville and celebrate! My treat! I wish you all the best. The weekend is almost here....my next goal is 190, and since it's TOM, I am holding at my 197...but hoping in the next few days to get closer.

Take Care,
Anita

I dont know if I will make this goal. My grandmother is in the hospital (has been for over 10 days now) due to retaining massive amounts of water. They first said she had congestive heart failure, got the water retention solved ( got 20lbs of water off of her in 1 day!), but she continued to have some problems, not eating and started holding water again, and are saying congestive heart failure again. She didnt sound good on the phone, my dad is freaking out. I may have to go up there this weekend. Please, if you find it in your heart and time, would you send up a prayer, thought, energy, whatever you like to do in situations as these. Thank you very much!

Wow Anita! thats some powerful prayer magick you got goin on there!

We can stand down the alert, my grandmother is doing much better.

To give you a little more information about what was going on here is the story.

Some years ago my grandmother was diagnosed with a very rare disease called Sweet's Syndrome. The short explanation for this syndrome is a skin disorder characterized by fever, inflammation of the joints and sudden onset of a rash. These are the MINOR symptoms caused by this disease. People with this often suffer from pneumonia, severe pain, inflammation, heart and lung diseases and can be caused by an underlying undiagnosed malignancy usually leukemia. The exact cause of the disease is unknown and it can flare up at any time but most usually when the patient is under periods of stress either physically or emotionally. Almost like a really bad case of shingles.

What happened in my grandmothers case is all of her other ailments require medications (she has many many others). These medications were basically fighting each other and caused the sweets syndrome to flair which resulted in her retaining fluid. Massive amounts of fluid. In order to control the Sweet's syndrome they had to give her prednisone....a steroid, which causes inflammation, hence the fluid retention. So to combat that they had to give her larger than usual doses of Lasix, a diuretic, which caused her to be nauseated and unable to eat, again contributing to the fluid retention. They have gotten the balance of these two meds in check, have given her an anti-nausea medication and she is starting to recover. She is still a very sick woman and really doesn't have much fight left in her but the doctors feel she should make a full recovery at this time.

So once again, my many thanks to all of you for your care and concern and energy and prayer.
