Yeah.....I think I do recall seeing some....I think it was like Aunt Millie's of something. Whatever that Aunt "whoever" is that makes breads, etc. They have low carb bread now and I believe it was white. I absolutely hate white bread and believe that was why I put it back.

It was at Meijers.

There is lo carb "store bought" bread that is great tasting and low carb (about 5-6 GM's after fiber is subtracted).
One brand is "Good Hearth Carb Action" Bread. I tried baking lo carb breads from recipes off the net and gagged on most of them.

I LOVE the CarbAction white bread....especially toated. I make hot ham and cheese sandwiches with it or put peanut butter on it for a snack! YUM!

I think its the only low carb bread that doesn't taste like styrafoam!

I have used Hollywood diet breads; I tried the white bread but didn't like it much. I like the Whole Wheat Bread; it has the best taste and happens to be the lowest in carbs in that line.

These breads are much cheaper than "protien" breads, but the taste is much more like high-carb real bread.

Personally, I can't eat the high-gluten breads because of the taste. I tried every recipie in Dana Carpenders 500 Low Carb Receipies book for low-carb bread, but my palate just couldn't take it (I hear you - I LOVE French and Italian bread!)

I hope you can find a reasonable subsitiute for now - wonce you hit maintenace, you may plan to eat small amounts of the "good stuff".

Tom.

More power to those of you who can eat that bread, but I just cannot eat any of the low carb breads- ewww...I don't know what it is, but they all just taste like cardboard must taste or something, to me.

I like the Subway wrap. It only tastes a bit soya like. I made my own LC tortillas out of Dana Carpenders 500 Low Carb Recipe book.

They taste really good, however, my skill in rolling them out makes them about 1/2 the size I would like.

I still can't find LC tortillas in my area ... must keep looking.

As far as the bread goes, I'm not trying another LC bread - ever!!!!

Tom.

Sara Lee makes a new bread, in both White and wheat that advertizes 9 per slice (I think) but after fiber it's only 7. the advantage is that it is like eating NORMAL bread. Good for an occasional thing.

I found a low carb bread mix at my bulk food store. I mixed it in my bread maker and baked it in the oven. It is very good. Not sure how much of it I should eat. I have only been on the low carb diet for 5 days. I love bread so it is nice to have it on hand to have once in awhile.

I love the Atkins Country White bread. 3 g. carbs per slice, and very filling.

I used to eat LC white bread. But now I don't really eat any lc products. And if I do eat them I might them once every two or three weeks, b/c they seemed to slow down my weight losing process.
