well I drive from N. Burnaby to UBC and back so any of the Swiss Chalets are fine by me - prefer not to cross a bridge but if I have to I have to....

So I have a preference of location but not for the restaurant!

BTW - Karen, congrats on your 10,000 posts! WOW!

Put me down for the Greek place But, of course, I'll go no matter where it is!

Usually it's 7 PM, Malvene, to give the out-of-towners time to get there.

I'm in for the greek place. I'd like to try Samba one day, but it is kinda pricey for now, plus if it's noisy I think it would be better in a smaller group.

the greek place was good food, good service, decent set up and good prices. can't go wrong with that

Also, the parking was easy - and there is some variety on the menu!

I really liked Rugby, but the hassle with the table wasn't fun...

Since I don't drive, my only criteria is being able to either walk there or take the bus. So, in order of convenience: Samba or Broadway Swiss Chalet. I don't know the Greek place, but I assume that it would also be easily accessed by bus. Any of the three and I'll be there!

What area do you live in? Maybe someone can give you a lift. I'm guessing you live in the West End?

The only thing is you need 25 posts to send or recieve private messages (PM's)

omg - another Karen desert??? you spoil us rotten - and we love you for it *g*

if there is another 'birthday' coming up... might this affect the choice of restaurant? will Samba or Swiss Chalet allow us to bring in our own desert? (this might not matter if the majority votes to go back to the Greek place).

I agree with Jean about the Rugby club - that was really good - once they got the table straightened out. The only other time I was there was with a group and they missed the boat on the table situation then too - seems like they have difficulty with seating larger groups.

If we go to the Greek place... you could bring the almond cake with ouzo "ice cream" sauce It would be quite in character!

Or something with the lemon curd? <drooling thinking of lemon meringue pie> hahahaa.. Don't get me started!

Ah, I remember you mentioned it the last time and I was thinking the same thing. Something lemon and cakey.

Is anyone going to the LC chocolate cooking class next week? I posted a sneak preview recipe in Recipe of the Month.

Karen
