I couldn't find it at my rural Wallies in NH. I emailed Hood. They told me it is only in "Super" Wal-Marts and only in certain areas. The only place in NH it currently is being sold is in Salem which is very far from me. Hood said that the do plan to introduce it into other grocery stores in the future.

I got the chocolate today, havent tried it yet though. Just a question, how come on the front it says 3 Atkins Net Carbs...But if you look on the back and subtract fiber its only 2 Net Carbs? I did the math and they didnt presubtract the fiber...Anybody else see this?

Default Low Carb Milk

I keep seeing where people are getting low carb milk at their Super WalMart...well, mine doesn't have it! Can you give me the brand name of the one you're buying so I can look for it and ask them to stock it? While I was looking for it I ran into 3 other people within 5 minutes who were also looking for it!

The Hood brand has low carb milk in some super walmarts. However, when I emailed Hood, they said it was not being stocked in all walmarts. I also think others have posted that there is another brand, LeCarb?, that is carried in the South. Hood did tell me that they were planning for a larger roll out to other grocery stores in the future. You might want to email Hood and see if they are selling it anywhere near your location. HTH

Keep Watching for the Milk!

Just this week our SuperWalmart suddenly has the Hoods milk and the Chef's Choice Low Carb frozen "bowls"

I was looking for the Russell Stover low carb candy -- the stockboy told me that they had a ton of Low Carb stuff in the back, that they were having to find shelf space for.

The other grocery stores are getting into the act as well! This morning I went to the store to pickup donuts for the NON LCer's at work (I'd made a breakfast egg casserole for the LCer's) and there was a bread rack with Atkins bread and bagels -- they weren't there 2 days ago!

I do love the low carb stores here in town because of their wide selection of low carb stuff, but I'm not going to miss paying inflated prices for some pretty generic things, just because they have had the market cornered for a while!

The Hood website is at http://www.hphood.com and there is a link to their email. By the way, I found the Hood low carb milk today at Super Walmart in Amherst, NH in case any of the other Northern New Englanders are looking. They also had a lot of the Carbsense products and Ross Chocolate bars.

I think that it has a powdery--aka powered milk--taste, too. But I agree that it's a good substitue, especially for breakfast when put on my Adkins or Hi-Lo cereal.

Stop and Shop in Peterborough, NH also has it now. Wish I knew this yesterday when I drove about 40 miles to buy it elsewhere. Did not like the regular except in place of heavy cream in my coffee, but the chocolate is very good!

I got the whole white milk type. It tasted too much like powerded non fat milk to me. My kids thought it was awful. I probably will not buy it again, but I do like it that they are trying to come out with products like this.

The Hood's Carb CountDown is great for whipping up smoothies in the blender! Rich and creamy!
