Hi everybody

I just invested over £40 in Atkins books today and I am determined to succeed in losing 281b's. I am sure that I will with the support of members on here...thanks in advance for any help you give me

It already seems a little complicated. I read in the book that I should only be sticking to 20 grams of carbs per day for 14 days but all of the recipes seem to be for 45 or over.

I'm sure it will make sense later.

One of my main sins is snacking.

Is there anything at all that I can snack on that is nice an tasty?

Please say that there is

anyway I look forward to learning heaps both in the books that I bought and on the forum.

I'll be happy to share any experiences that I have with others if it will help.

Best wishes everybody

UKGary

Hello UKGary and welcome,

you did find the right place for information and support. There is a lot of good low carb food and snacks, you can always check the Kitchen section of this forum. You may want to start your own journal, there you can write down your daily stuff and meet other low carbers

I wish you much success, come visit sometimes and let me know how you are doing

Talking Thank you:o)

Hi Mischa

Thank you for the lovely welcome and for pointing me in the direction of the kitchen forum... I didn't know it was there until you pointed it out.

The journal is an excellent idea and I will do one to help me in my quest.

Thank again)

UKGary

Hi Gary, I like Pork Skins - gives you the chip like substance without the carbs. Also, try sugar free jello. That really helps the sweet tooth.

Good luck!

Wink snack, snack, snack,

Hey Gary. Welcome a-board I love it here. I think you will too. There is tons of direction, help and support. There's nothing nicer than being in the same boat with other nice people...that sounded a bit icky. Sorry. Anyway, I buy large trays of little chicken legs. They're called "drumettes" here. Spice them up and roast until nice and crunchy. I think they're perfect to leave in the fridge and grab when you need a noch. Of course there's always celery and "Cheez Whiz" Pork rinds (scratchings) are great too. Dipped in...pratically anything. Good luck. See you around. Hope1

I love pepperoni slices to snack on.
Also, Reddi Whip in the can has less than one carb per serving.

Sugar Free pudding is no good, because the milk you make it with has carbs.

Good luck!

Hi Gary,

You should get a dehydrator and make you some beef jerky. It is wonderful and you can snack on it all day. Cut your roast in think slices and marinate in a mixture of Dale's Seasoning, liquid smoke, and garlic powder for about 10 minutes. It will be ready when you wake up in the morning. Let me know how you like it. Best of luck to you.

Hello UKGary
You might not like them but I'm snacking on all kinds of fancy olives.
You can buy those in any good food store.
And a newly discovered favourite of mine is Daikon, a radish flavoured root. That one goes well with all kinds of stuff on it. (slice or cube it).
Happy snacking!
