Default Cheapest BP monitor

I have one but it's the cheapest and the cuff only goes to 12.5". My low number especially has been consistently high. I don't really want to buy $100 worth of blood pressure monitor and there is no replacement cuff for the one I have. Anything cheap with a 13.5-14" cuff available or do I just have to eat it. White coat syndrome is suspected.

ETA: I don't actually know if 14" is right. I just remember that from sometime. I fit the normal cuffs at the doctors not the larger ones.

You would need a large cuff - These are 12-14 inches. Omron is a reasonable BP brand. I'm not sure where you are but they are about $50 US. Quality does matter with electronic BP machines. I think it is better to pay a little more for one that you know will be accurate and reliable.

We bought a well rated Omron at Amazon, but some years ago now, sure there is a new model. Amazon carries many brands, the current "Amazon Choice" is only $33 delivered free with thousands of 5* reviews, and is the wrist version. Has many upper arm models as well for reasonable prices.

It has to be an arm one. That's what bumps up the price. I think I will probably have good intentions of doing this, fail to follow through and forget to follow up. I think the above poster is correct that you kind of have to pay the piper for it to work right. The one I have is low-tech, a manual one but I can't get a larger cufF for it.
