Talking new PCOS member!

Hello everyone! Its my first day here and I hope you all can give me the strength to get thru my new journey. I was Dx'd at 19 with PCOS and given glucophage....which didnt work. Here I am 14yrs later with Fortamet and a diabetic diet. I did Atkins for 30 days no cheating and couldnt get to ketosis. Soooo doc says this medicine along with diet and exercise I should drop 50lbs like fast!!! Keepin fingers crossed I wish everyone luck and success on their journeys as well and hope I will find all the strength I might need here with many new possible friends!!!!

Welcome! I love this site, everyone here has been so supportive! I also have PCOS, and the I am losing very slow, but I am still losing. I have had a very hard time finding a doctor that doesn't tell me that people w/ pcos don't gain weight from that, but from their lifestyle. Here's to a new lifestyle! Let me know how this is working for you

Default I'm a newbie too.

Aloha everyone. My name is Bobbie, I am 25 and was diagnosed with pcos almost a year ago. It is a relief to finally know what is wrong. I spent my teenage years going to gyn after gyn only to be told that nothing was wrong. I concieved my son at 20 from a previous relationship, and my husband and I have been trying for 3 years for another. After 5 rounds of Clomid I lost heart and we decided to take a break. We are back at it again, and I have a lot of weight to loose. I have gained 100lbs over the past 2 years! I am ready and commited to this. Today is my first day on Atkins although I tried it after my son was born I didn't stay with it long. 4 years later I am a different person and this feels right. I hope to get to know many of you as we help each other through this. Mahalo.
