OMG you beach leading are killing me here! LOLOLOL
But I wanted details!
Nic- You have truly the best of ALL worlds! Your beach house, your MD life, and a beautiful family that is thriving! You enjoy it all!!!!!!
I am sure you will find something at those Tanger outlets up there. I sure enjoyed browsing them. You should stop at that shop that sells crab cakes to go. It is attached to the Crab shack?!?! It's on 1 Coastal Highway. They have the BEST crab cakes. I was addicted to them. That is the one this I really miss about up there. The abundance of crab- holy moly it was amazing.
You can buy a can of shelled crab by the POUND up there for what it costs for an 8oz container here. I can smell them as I type! Sighhhhhhhhh YUM!
LOLOL on your miss chatty neighbor. You know what is funny, I like going to the beach by myself too! I just want to sit, and BE. Then when I am done- leave. No explaining. Do you have one of those beach carts?!?!?! I think those are the bomb. I will get myself one WHEN I move back to the beach.
Are you going out for dinner?
Lori- So so so cool to see the Blue Angels! Wow! I bet over the water is spectacular! I saw them twice at the Dayton Airshow and once at a ball game they were in town and did a flyover!
OMG on the crap at your hotel!- I would SO be getting some change back! Hell no! ridiculous. Funny though you mentioned the fire alarm. Last time I was in a hotel that did happen! They had a short in the system and it kept going off ALL hours! The second time it happened I just stayed in bed!
OMG- you are making me drool- crab cakes- sighhhhhhh scallops. It just doesn't get any better does it?!?!?! I could live out my days just like that. On the beach eating crab! I would die a happy woman.
How long are you staying? What is on the play book for today?
Trig- - I say I hop in the car and drive up your way, pick you up and we head due North East and we catch Lori/Sis on the beach!
Except we will stay in a different hotel with running water and no light fixtures falling from the ceiling! Oh heck- Fire up that RV and we will park it in the beach parking lot!
Now we are talking! HAHA
They are killing us you know! - well we will get there too! I forgot you just had your beach trip! I am the LACKING/ SLACKING one here!
Are you enjoying the sunshine. Your heat is returning little by little and it will hit 90 again by Monday!
I would DEF be planning a small road trip with hubby! Take the weather and time while you can. Kiddo will be more than fine for a few days! You would LOVE IT!
Yeah....also a good time to close the pool and trim up bushes, fences, and ready it up for winter! Yup I said the word- WINTER! BOOOOO
I think eating as clean as you do your body would give up those last few you want to lose. However, that being said- STRESS keeps the pounds on due to the Cortisol. You have been under fire for almost 8 months? It seems this year has been one hit after the other. From injuries, and and and and you know. It does make a difference! I looked it up, Cortisol and weight gain. It is a REAL thing.
I think after everything is settled up and your DD gets her focus for school next year and all- it will DROP OFF! You eat way to clean. Just thinking out loud!
Steak for dinner? You still watching Dr. Chaffee? He has put out a few new videos, as well as Dr. Berry (my fav).
----------------------------------------------------------------
So the last few days have been a whirlwind of job related events. I had 3 interviews yesterday. One went SO well that they ask me to drop everything and come right on into the clinic and spend the afternoon with them. I did too! I just wish I had been able to do that with the hospital- I would have said NO!
So, for them to offer to have me come in for an afternoon and get a real deal feel for the people, environment was a huge perk!
I also interviewed for 2 other positions yesterday that are ready to move forward with a 2nd interview as well. I also have an interview Monday, unless I cancel it with an offer today.
Breakdown of positions:
1) Oncology Nurse Navigator- sees newly DX patients in the hospital and sets them up for their first treatments. Coordinates med refills, and answers questions regarding treatments. This is basic case management with an oncology twist. I am fluent in this position and could do it VERY well.
Pro- at the one of the BEST hospitals in the country. I would work out of the clinic and in a "clean" environment. Meaningful work, and I could easy be very efficient at it. It is a perm and stable position with all the perks including the best healthcare package ever.
Con- It is not the work from home, work anywhere I wanted. It would not be a grand work life balance. It is a hard job and at the end of the day I will come home and crash on my overstuffed chair and go to bed repeat. NO Social life, except the weekends.
2)- Executive Director for a national home care company.
Pros: It is a perm position and pays off the chain insane amount of $$. I would be able to save some dimes.
Cons- High stress position that is very prone to burn out and high turn rates. People don't stay long time in those jobs. Also the position is 100% about profits- nothing meaningful. Just all about the money.
3) Case manager for a large Insurance company.
Pro- A job I can and have done in my sleep! Pays pretty well and will be a 100% remote position. I love the work from home model. Much more relaxed job. I would not have to find day care for Ruger, and I can work from the beach.
Con- this is a 6 month gig only with no promise of going perm. No healthcare benefits either. I could use it until I found something else, but then I would be RIGHT back where I am now! Hunting for yet another job!
I also have another potential position that is also same job as above- temp as well for another insurance company.
So- there ya have ALL the nitty gritty info. I am leaning to 1 and 3. They both offer something I like. I just wish 3 was a PERM position. That would be a no brainer for me! Or I keep looking, but my rainy day fund is screaming at me for some sunshine in the pocket book!
Lots of options- I do love that! I COULD also do another year of Travel nursing if I HAD to- not best choice, but it is flexible and gives me $$ change!
Today is TGIF- and I am going to enjoy some outside time today with my pup and put some sun on my face. I am also going to hit up the library for something good to read. I am wanting some down time as I see my time off coming to an end.
Gut feels better after going basic yesterday. Today is basic as well. I am feeling a few burgers on the grill and calling it a day. I thawed out 2 pounds of the grass fed beef. With one pound I am going to make up hamburger patties, and then a meatloaf using crushed pork rinds as the binder. Tomorrow's meal. Nothing fancy and no ketchup or tomato anything. I will use mustard as that does not bother me.
I have another beef chuck roast thawing for Sunday. All good.
Although will all this talk about crab cakes I went and bought some fresh lump crab and have some crushed pork rinds thought I might try a few! Oh yes please! I might get a rum drink at the same time and put on some Jimmy Buffet and have a Staycation Day! Yup
Ok ladies! Make today grand!
