Default Plateau

Okay, I cheated on the weekend, and when I weighed in today(which I can only do wednesdays) I had not lost anything, can one screw up make that much of a difference? Or do people often plateau after the first week?

Default Hello Fellow Ottawa person

Hi!

When I first started CAD I experienced the same thing. Keep to your diet, drink TONS of water, and make sure your "goings" are regular (for lack of a better word).

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any omount of other "experienced" members here. We're all very friendly and love to help.

Post Plataue help

Ivory,

I've been CADing for about a month now. I actually mess up often on the weekend Rm meals. The key is water and lots of it. don't drink stuff with caffiene, it will stop the weight loss. I found this out the hard way. Even if I splurge on the RM meals as long as I drink my water (more than the suggested amount), I keep losing. Try to make sure that when you splurge you only do it on the RM and that you don't make a habit of it. It takes your body about 2-3 days to get back in the swing of the weight loss after each splurge. Also, the weight loss slows down to only a pound or 1/2 a pound a week. Water trully does make your cravings dissapear.

Default Caffein

I know they say not to take caffein, but I have my one and only coffee every morning. So far it hasn't prevented me from losing any weight. I guess everybody is different and you have to find what's good for you.

After re-reading the CALP book, I realised that my caffein might blck the chromium (or deplete it) and I will start taking supplements. I just can't give up my coffee.

All this talk of caffeine makes me sad I LOVE LOVE LOVE Diet Coke, but it has both aspartame and caffeine in it, so I think I have to give it up. Its gonna kill me, but I have to. I drink too much as it is, and I'm finding the water tastes better anyway...

I messed up again Thursday night, I went to a huge class party and had alcohol...quite a bit of it. I've been drinking 3L of water/day since then, and hopefully it won't totally throw my weight loss off...I get pretty mad at myself when I do that.
