Talking Orlando Area Get Together!

We are trying to plan a low carb get together for lunch on Friday 5/21 in Altamonte Springs at 1PM. Two of us from the area were talking in our journals and decided to meet for lunch and invite anyone that may be in the area around that time to meet up! If anyone is interested, or has thoughts or ideas on this, please respond!!! looking forward to meeting lots of low carbers!!!!

Wow, you are on the ball aren't you.

I'm in. Yeah May 21st 1pm.

Now we just have to figure out how many want to go and where are we going to eat? If we get enough people we might have to try and reserve a table. I sure hope we get some people together. Oh how fun. Will have to bring my digital camera to post so pics. I'm so excited.

There are so many choices right on 436 just off I4 that would be really easy to find. There is the Red Lobster, TFIG, Steak and Ale, and Three Tomatoes.

I am totally flexible, though. Whatever you guys decide will be fine with me. I like to eat so I am always happy.

I am going to be away from the board most of next week as one of my clients just handed me a HUGE project. But count me in for whatever you decide . I am looking forward to it.

I went to sweet tomatoes quite a while back (when I first started Atkins) and there really wasn't much there I could eat at all. Maybe they've changed since then. Any of the others sound good though.

I have never actually been to Sweet Tomatoes I was just thinking a salad bar might work but let's not go there if we cannot get what we want!

There is a Longhorn Steakhouse just one block off 436 & I/4. Very easy to find. I have never been there but always wanted to try it.

The Longhorn is very easy to find and is very accomidating. You can get steaks and substitute brocolli for fries and that is one huge wrap sandwich!!! I eat there a lot for lunch! Sweet tomatoes is good if you only want salad. The salads they toss and put in the bowls for premade have lots of sugars added to them....they still concentrate on low fat there. TGIFridays is about 1 1/2 blocks farther away from I-4 on 436, same side of the road, they are good! I will try to scout some more locations this week!

I've been to the Longhorn up there. It's very good. Actually DH and I stayed at the hotel across the street from that Longhorn when we first came to FL (in 1998) to find a house to rent after he got the job offer here. We went to that longhorn a couple of times that week and went several other times when we were renting a house in Casselberry. Nowadays we usually go to the Longhorn down in Waterford Lakes since it's closer to where we are now (chuluota).

BTW - I think there's a Ruby Tuesdays in Altamonte mall and seem to remember something about them having a LC menu too but, I've never actually been there.

They closed the Ruby Tuesdays in the mall, they are currently remodelling and I am not sure if they are opening it back up or not. I will look for more places.
